Car overheated, engine pinged furiously and doesn't wanna start. After getting stranded on the Newcastle Freeway 30kms out from Hornsby at 9pm, paying for it to get towed back home, popped the hood and found that the top radiator hose has a gigantic split. Now wondering if the head gasket is gone or not.
Thoughts?
Helping my brother in progress of doing a diy engine bay respray

I feel your pain. The syd-nc freeway has a thing for chewing up cars.
Last year when i had my corolla coming back to sydney from a camping trip. Overheated along the newcastle freeway near wyong in the late afternoon. Got the car towed to a mechanics at the 24 hour maccas along the freeway. Slept in the car till the mechanic opened in the morning. Radiator was farked, all coolant was gone, sprayed all over the engine bay that is, there was no thermostat in the car either (got diddled by previous owner i guess), LUCKILY though, i did not blow a head gasket. So the mechanic got a new radiator in for me within a few hours, popped a new thermostat in, done, ran like new again, drove back to sydney. Parents we're not going to pay for the towing cause it was my tough shit for taking the car without checking it first before the roadtrip, they told me not to take the car and we're happy to see me get my own way home if something happened, thanks mum. Good times.
Let's hope it's as simple as it overheating from loss of coolant and you don't have to fork out for a new head gasket. Let us know what happens.
^ Nah, they are KU25's (if thats what you ment)
For the price, they are awesome only had them on for a week so far. so i have not really got into it yet to see how they go
a mate took it for a spin and said they were almost on par with his re001's (i was rather surprised with that)
KU25 sounds about right
I have them and on my set up they aren't great, I'm just trying to decide if its my current alignment or the tyre.
Just picked up a spare bonnet and front bumper. These ones aren't cracked/dented/gay like the ones on my car at the moment.

installed front lip and foglights yesterdai :)
Oh yeah! mmmmmm ^
heheheeh hopefully install my new wing tmr :) need to sand it a little bit :)
I used them in 215/40/17. Good tyres for $123 a piece (probably more expensive now).
They're a mid-range performance tyre. A little noisy IMO (17's I guess) but they performed quite well. Good dry/wet drip, good wear rating I reckon. Given that the entry-level performance tyre KU23 was $117 at the time, it was an easy choice to upgrade to the KU25 for $6 more per corner. But the KU31 is a better tyre, although it sure is more expensive.
posted my car up for sale. =D
Evo 9
Yeah because everyone has 25000+ for a car n all :P stupid Evos why do they have to be so expensive!
EVO = Boring as Bat shit.. sorry that's just my 2C.

i believe you can wire tuck the headlight harness without putting the original harness under the knife, by running the harness through the fender and not through its existing firewall entry? i read an article about it somewhere. by all means if you know what you're doing you can go extend wires by cutting but some may end up running into electrical issues later down the track? there was also talk about keeping the distributor wires (blue and grey correct me if i'm wrong) intact and not extending them as problems arise?
not attacking anyone here, as i've been looking up info on wire tucks as well, hopefully doing it soon lol.
anyone wanna confirm/shed light?
i've actually tried using the same harness and hid it somewhere, but unfortunately, the harness was too short to reach the headlights/indicators and etc, i've done wire tucking before and it was a job well done. The way i wire tuck it, i had spare harness which had the same coloured wirings.. so i used that for the extension. In order after than, i carefully stripped it, soldered each one and use those heat rubber thing (where you slip it in where the connection is, heat it up and it kinda squeezes together - i forgot what its called)
Im not wire tucking those major wires like distributor or anything, just doing the ones that are safe to do if you know what i mean :)
back to topic ; i installed my EG6 cluster which i received last night
http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._4576371_n.jpg

next im gonna do some wire tucking and maybe spray my headers
Nice! Soooo much better Jer!
Just need a chrome oil cap :)
and take those mj sweatbands of lol
ill get a nikko and write spoon on them. problem solved... lols
Awesome choice. It's good shit, mine is still good, no fading or flaking. Just a few scratches here and there from stupid passengers in the back.
Was considering painting both door trims and dash black too. But im gonna look into see how much it would cost to get the door trims retrimmed in black stuff (suede, vinyl whatever) and same for the dash. If it's too expensive, then forget it. Spray cans all the way.
Looks good so far !! but please dont PAINT the header - rip it off an get the wet and dry sandpaper onto it.. then some Meguiars METAL POLYSH and you get THIS:
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...G_EG2_11-1.jpg
this was just an hour or two spent on it but if you go for a few more then you get as-new.. and it re-bronzes etc..
then all u need to do is give it a light polish every 6 months or so..
thanks. yeah i totally agree with you! thing is i dont wanna take off the headers and risk snapping a bolt or threading anything. i did give them a thorough sand today and got them a little glossy but still didnt turn up as great. so...i painted them just today lol.
shoulda done this. not hard removing headers man
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...=1#post2956565
you painted them while they were on the car? ghetto styles!
taken headers off twice, carefully. and both times a bolt snapped inside the head.
Changed spark plugs and gearbox oil, fixed my throttle cable and rear brake lights. Found out my front swaybar is 22mm and my rear is 16mm only. No wonder my front wheels have been on a one way ticket to Understeer City Central.
Og axis oldschool and rolled the rear guards !
added some smd wedge t10 bulbs.

thats normal for dc2r rear seats in eg. you need ek9 bottom section if you want them to fit perfectly.
Lol diy gone wrong charles
I think dc2 top with db8 bottom fits better, not quite sure.
