SAS allows road registered cars.
That means cars need to be in a roadworthy state.... not just have a current rego sticker.
Stripping of interior, to changing of seats, using harnesses, roll bars etc without a blue plate deems that car non roadworthy thus not SAS compliant.
Slicks are in the same catagory.
This is something I made sure I was not infringing on when I used to go out. However... I point my finger at QR for not scruting cars. I don't know if this is still the case but back then it was way too relaxed in this respect.. I never saw anyone checking cars over.
This poses a few issues from sportsmanship between entrants to general safety.
Reguardless if AASA are making motorsport affordable and accessable to majority of people with a drivers licence and a car, in my opinion, these issues, especially general safety should NOT be overlooked.
Were does this lead me to... a lap time is a lap time... I'd like to see it recorded down on this thread.
Where you document it is IMO where it needs to be reconsidered in this thread... you guys are going to have to figure that one out between yourselves.
