EDIT: looks lik Alonso is on a splash n dash... he said in his interview that hes not expecting to fight for the win (translation: I barely have enough fuel to get to turn 1). lulz...
man its going to be an interesting race... expect the red bulls to struggle massively with tyre degradation...
keep an eye on Button.... the brawns conserve their tyres the best... so if hes fueled heavily...............
lol @ this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gVfxDuNaks
helmet did its job... doubt he'll drive since he got concussed
confimed.... Massa is out for tomrs race..
http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headline...25171847.shtml
GG, poor massa, i always joke about how much i hate him, but man that was fkn epic. Hope he gets well soon, hopefully soon enough for next race at telefonica.
reports vary....they say he maybe out for two months... or the rest of the season..
hes in a medically induced coma atm after being operated on... he'll be out of that soon...
Ferrari r gona release a statement before race start i think....
the seasons starting to get interesting !! :D
GG two months or whole season that is really bad, i wonder wat ferrari can do, can they bring a new driver in?.
If so im guessing it will be that rally driver dude who was reportedly supposed to take kimmi raikonnen's possition if kimmi decided to leave f1 for rally.
it'd prob be Marc Gene or Luca Badoer filling in for massa...
heres a snippit from http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headline...26104910.shtml
sounds pretty serious... hope he gets through it...

A hospital spokesman said: "He had suffered serious, life-threatening injuries including loss of consciousness and a fracture of the forehead on the left side and a fracture on the base of the skull. After the operation he is being cared for in intensive care and now he is in stable, satisfactory condition."
It is said that Massa's pregnant wife Rafaela is en route to Hungary from their native Sao Paulo.
“After undergoing an operation yesterday afternoon, Felipe Massa's condition remains stable and there were no further complications through the night,” Ferrari said in a statement Sunday morning. “He will be given another CT scan today, which will provide more precise information.”
its good that hes stable and hopefully he recovers 100%...
good on barrichello for accompanying him to hospital aswell
webber back to bad luck lol
hamilton first atm YES, been so long since i've seen #1 beside his name

^^^ she has saggy boobs Iz reckonz, not bad for a oldie.. id hit it.
EDIT: btw she has a hairy forehead and she's butt ugly without make up ;)
Any one think its really weird how Lewis dad is alway there? fookin weirdo i reckon, imagine you rock upto work everyday and your dad is there with you lol
I work 6 days a week with my old man and I absolutely love it...
btw, Lewis father is his manager, so for business he's his boss and he's also there for family and support.
Thats part of the reason why there so successful, they have supported each other since he was in a kart!
well you dont see other driver dads are there all the time. im not saying its wrong just a bit weird thats all.
im sure they all have some family come along
just like at a football game, the parents and family always come to watch and support
Massa's father is there most of the time, Button dad is there most of the time too, Kimi's has had his mum there now thats cooler then having ur dad there haha, its not weird... webber's dad was there last week when he won his first GP, its like going to watch your son play soccer on Sunday, but their sons get payed to drive really expensive machines. :)
jenson buttons dad pretty much goes to every gp... n im not juz talkin bout this year.... but previous too.... but hes more of a 'support' role... doesnt really interfear with things..
lewis' dad on the other hand.. i reckon hes the puppet master lol....lewis bein the puppet...
all jokes aside.. i think his dad has a big hand in what goes on behind the scenes...
yeah but like me you'd still hit it lol
as long as he doesnt get in the way and become a backseat driver then i wouldnt mind at all..
travelling alot gets pretty lonely so having family there is always a good thing imo..
anyone notice how lewis' dad or bro dont like his gf hahahah
i remember last year @ the British GP.. Jenson challenged lewis to a marathon or triathlon... to raise money for charity...
lewis agreed... but later his dad declined the offer.. on 'behalf' of lewis...
Schumi returns!!
Interesting that they didn't have 'anyone' else!
http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2009/7/9703.html
oh lawd..
If Schumacher wins 1st place in the next race few races, then it proves his skill. If he doesn't win, then it is the car that is letting everyone down. Will be interesting.
I've always wondered what if Schumacher went up against Senna in today's F1 cars (RIP Senna). This is not as good, but is similar.
oh man im lookin forward to going to the singapore & jdm races..
bwhaha
ferrari fans are gonna be strong no matter how he drives..
Yessss the Shu-man is back in action.
Should be interesting and would like to see how the crowds would be in the next few races......
http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headline...29190859.shtml
indeed ohh snap!
they need to setup there cars properly tho,
bmw out of next years season too, i'm sure they could have gotten someone else apart from schu, but why not add in a little bit of media and marketing buzz in the mix again, poor massa.
I might even watch the next race just for this!
i hope shummy fails HARD :)
I'll be in Italy for Monza!! With Schumacher returning the atmosphere should be insane!!! Can't wait!
i dont think anyone would expect him to win, but it would be interesting to see how he rates against his replacement, kimi.
Also it would be interesting to see if ferrari does get rid of kimi and he goes back to mclaren with alonso replacing him...the rumours are starting to fly.
Apparently Massa is progressing quiet well...
hes already able to walk... eating normal food... talking... vision is fine... n he'll be going back to brasil on monday...
so schumis return mite be short lived... :S
id say 2 to 3 races max
if he does well in the first race, then they will keep him on for another 2 just to build up the hype
FIA is really pissing me off, read this and you'll see why

I want a bloody serbian F1 team in for next season
The FiA has always been dirty, this is nothing new, since Cosworth is supplying a few teams and I assume that a certain percentage of the sales for engines goes to the FiA & prob Bernies dirty little pockets.
Interesting that Schumacher is coming back -- I always had a theory that he wasn't THAT good a driver (i.e. as much as his history in F1 would indicate) that simply he was driving in a time that rewarded teams with massive budgets capable of digital wind tunnel analysis. It seemed for 2-3 years at least, Ferrari's cars were at least 1s faster than the rest of the field race pace & this was confirmed by how many 1/2 finishes they got. As soon as the rest of the field caught up with the technology etc suddenly it was a level playing field and schumacher wasn't all that good anymore, he was human again.
I personally think that there are better drivers out there than Schumacher and it was visibly demonstrated in the Mondial (sp?) I saw on tele a few times with Schumacher getting his ass handed to him by Marcus Gronholme, Lohb, some European Karting Champ & a champion of champions racer from previous years who I hadn't heard of.. Across several different events / classes / cars etc..
Anyhow -- This will really show what schumacher has & if his arrogance was/is justified. No pressure mate. Crash -- But this time don't take out anyone on purpose.
if he wasn't any good, wouldn't his teammates have beaten him more consistently. He was able to build a team around him that can win.
True that technology has alot to do with how anyone drives, but best conparison is with your teammate. I think its was probly his age that slowed him down.
He still did ver well in his last year, almost got the drivers champ.
The race of champions isnt a race driver decider, put that guy who beat him in a F1 car and he wont even come close, this should give you a small indication of just how much of a great F1 driver he is, I doubt he will come first in Valencia but it wont surprise me if he did.

He did do a lil "testing" late last yearand has helped with the development I think he will do well but i personaly dont think the car is up to it and as for whos beta Schumi or senna id tend to lean to senna but we will neva no but I would like to see Bruno Senna in f1 soon
early in schumi's career he did race senna and beat him too, it would've been a great rivalry for f1...like rafa vs federer.
seems like lately they've thrown alot of young drivers into f1 hoping they'll come good. But seems like some are just there cos of their name i.e nelson piquet.
stain master your comment doesn't say anything about how good a driver he was and some may argue that it only strengthens the argument about how GG his car was.
ewendc2r hit the nail on the head when he said "Ferrari's cars were at least 1s faster than the rest of the field race pace".
All of these recods shouldn't go unnoticed but at the same time they should be read with a "grain of salt" due to the race car.
To me a good driver is one that follows the rules and also does well under pressure in a level playing field, and i dont think Michael Shumacher was all that good under this criteria.
dont get me wrong he was a really good driver but i rkn there are better out there.
Hahaha your kidding me mate, he's championship wins are more then double of the driver who has the 2nd most championship wins, I was once a person who didn't like Michael always winning then I changed my mind about him, I suggest doing some research on Michael and you too will find how much of an elite driver he is.
Also the car does play a major role, see F1 drivers aren't only payed to drive the car but their input into development is another key role they play, a driver need to able to do both these things and Michael was superior at doing this, his knowledge, feed back & development skills and appointing the right people at Ferrari to help him win "The Dream Team" it was called, with Ross Brawn on his side which he took with him when he left Benetton.
Now Michael is payed by Ferrari to help develop there road going cars from the F360 onwards & developing there F1 cars, Michael has played a key role in helping Ferrari in their road cars, Ferrari could of employed anyone they have the cash but they choose Michael, his knowledge & skill is just on another level.
And no I don't think there would be a better driver then Michael for a very long time.
F*CK sake... after so much hype and anticipation it looks lik Schumi wont be makin a comebak after all.... FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU :@

Schumacher cancels F1 comeback
By Jonathan Noble Tuesday, August 11th 2009, 07:48 GMT
Michael SchumacherMichael Schumacher has had to cancel his Formula 1 comeback as a result of the neck injuries he suffered in a motorcycle crash earlier this year.
In a statement issued on his website, Schumacher said that he told the team last night he was not fit enough to race as a replacement for the injured Felipe Massa.
"Yesterday evening, I had to inform Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo and team principal Stefano Domenicali that unfortunately I'm not able to step in for Felipe," he said.
"I really tried everything to make that temporary comeback possible, however, much to my regret it didn't work out. Unfortunately we did not manage to get a grip on the pain in the neck which occurred after the private F1-day in Mugello, even if medically or therapeutically we tried everything possible."
Schumacher suffered a sizeable accident during a German superbike test at Cartagena in Spain on February 11 - which forced him to abandon entering motorcycle races. It had been hoped that the injuries he suffered in that crash would not impact on his F1 return, but medical examinations have indicated that problems remain.
"The consequences of the injuries caused by the bike-accident in February, fractures in the area of head and neck, unfortunately have turned out to be still too severe," added Schumacher.
"That is why my neck cannot stand the extreme stresses caused by Formula 1 yet. These are the clear results of the examinations we did on the course of the past two weeks and the final examination yesterday afternoon.
"As there were no improvements after the day in Mugello, I decided at short notice on Sunday to do that thorough examination already yesterday.
"I am disappointed to the core. I am awfully sorry for the guys of Ferrari and for all the fans which crossed fingers for me. I can only repeat that I tried everything that was within my power. All I can do now is to keep my fingers crossed for the whole team for the coming races."
Schumacher had been due to test an F2007 at Mugello in Italy from today, but there is now little reason for him to see through with that running.
It is not clear who Ferrari will now slot in as the replacement for the injured Felipe Massa, with the team having little more than one week to find a suitable driver.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu uuuuuu
get ****ed
who the fcuk told him 2 ride a bike in the first place... fs...
sustained bak in Feb 11... almost 6 months on... fs... thought he woulda recovered by now..
gg
Luca Badoer to stand in for Massa..............
I am so pissed right now!
More like who the fcuk fixed barrichello's car so stupidly that a spring would fall off and hit Massa in the head, thus requiring Schumacher to fill in.
Go get some head & neck fractures from crashing a bike and then try coming back in 6 months. It's serious shit and if he can't guarantee the safety of himself and the other drivers on the track, then kudos for him for pulling out and pissing off all his fans because he placed importance on safety first.
^^^ I say "Schumi breaks neck for fans"
wtf??????
relax dude..
its just obviously theres been alot of hype and excitement over his 'return'... and bein an extremely passionate F1 fan i was shattered when i heard he wouldnt be returning...
obviously safety is of the utmost concern... he decided against it.. so be it... his health > F1
Epic Fail, i wanted to see Shumi get owned again :( , really annoys me how people think that he's the fkn best (he's good not the best, alonso > shumi).
He is a liar and a fkn cheater and was basically spoon fed victories, Its funny how when there was some competition (i.e. Renault) he lost.
i guess it aint over till the fat lady sings...

Ferrari eyes third car for Schumacher
By Jonathan Noble Tuesday, August 11th 2009, 17:04 GMT
A push by Ferrari to allow teams to run three cars in Formula 1 next year could yet allow Michael Schumacher to return to the sport.
That was the firm hint dropped by Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo on Tuesday night, just hours after Schumacher's F1 comeback was called off for now because of a neck injury.
Di Montezemolo believes that Schumacher has plenty to offer F1 still, even though he is 40-years-old, and he has said he will not ease off in his efforts to get the rules changed so Ferrari can run three cars next year - with Schumacher a possibility to fill for as many races as he wants.
In an interview that will appear in La Stampa on Wednesday, di Montezemolo said that there were clear reasons why Ferrari opted for its former champion rather than a young driver when it came to finding a replacement for Felipe Massa.
"Well we're talking about Michael Schumacher," said di Montezemolo. "He is 40 years old, but he's still from another planet.
"I prefer the champion, even if matured, to the mediocre driver, even if he's young. Our circus needed some great input.
"We're continuing to fight until every team has the right to start with three cars in the next season (and one I'd have handed over to Michael with pleasure). I prefer three McLaren and three Renault to three "whatevers". With BMW gone, there's not much to say but lots to do."
Di Montezemolo said he was 'very disappointed' by the news delivered on Monday night that Schumacher's neck injury from a motorcycle crash had not healed enough to allow him to race in F1, but said there was no point in pushing the German to try to get in the car.
"They found something that still didn't work," said di Montezemolo. "So it's better not to insist. We wouldn't do that at all. He had the small motorcycle accident in February and on the first laps at Mugello he felt that something was wrong. You shouldn't joke with your health."
Di Montezemolo also revealed that Schumacher himself was unhappy about the development that has kept him out of the F1 ****pit for now.
When asked how Schumacher reacted to the news, di Montezemolo said: "What do you think? He answered with such an enthusiasm to my request; the enthusiasm of a boy and not of a retired champion.
"He lost four kilos; same weight as in October 2006 when he raced for the last time in Brazil. You can imagine how he took it."
And di Montezemolo said that Badoer's chances of keeping the race seat beyond the European GP would very much depend on the job he did.
"[We have] faith in Luca Badoer, who's one of us," he said. "Destiny has given him a unique possibility now he has to make the best out of it. We will support him with all we've got."
hehehe ooohhhh man! would've made things real interesting... O wellz, BUTTON FTW~~
not quite motor sport related...
but apparently Jenson Button's Veyron is up for sale... askin price .. roughly $2m AUD...
also tells u what hes currently got...
"His garage is the stuff of dreams – he also owns a Mercedes C63 AMG, Mercedes CLK DTM AMG, Ferrari Enzo, Audi RS6 Avant and BMW M5."
hmm wonder why hes selling it? only 200 made... should be a collectors item...
http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2009/08/1...nip-at-899995/
^^^ The Veyron is just a Volkswagen anyway he has a enzo not sure why you would want anything else...
did ticket prices for valencia go up because of shumacher?
Look its not nice to say thing like that, you know one of Schumacher's all time favorite track's is Suzuka and we all know who owns the Suzuka track, so before you criticise him learn about him.
And sorry too annoy you but he is the best! where is alonso now lol!
You should read my posts earlier about him you might get in insight to what kind of person he really is.
^^ it wouldn't really matter what position he finished if he had raced, the fact that he was back in a F1 car would of been awesome too see again.
i honestly dont think its coz he knew he was gona get owned...
he had a press conference a couple of days ago and u could tell by his body language and the way he spoke that he was honestly disappointed about not being able to race...
his manager is not ruling out a return still... i wont be surprised if he makes an appearance at Monza or the later gp's (in the ****pit)...
its a different story when ur neck has to withstand 4-5 lateral g's... for an hour and a half....
Totally disagree. Even if he had a slightly stiff neck from sleeping in the wrong position the previous night, he won't be able to withstand the g-forces from a hardcornering F1 car. You don't need to be in a neck brace to not be able to drive an F1 car. The majority of us here with perfectly healthy necks won't be able to withstand the g-forces either because we have not been training our neck muscles. Heck, when I was driving the slightly faster go karts on a tight track, my neck got stiff and aching from only 15 minutes of driving! Can't imagine how bad F1 would be on the neck.
^^^^ if i do one of those gran prix karting events at eastern creek by the end of it my fore arms are gone and my body feels so drained, ive heard some people have spewed into there helmets, i cant imagine what f1 drivers must go throu.
Eastern creek is easy. I can do that for many many sessions. This one I went to in Melb, I was literally starting to faint when taking the corners. I remember slouching over the steering wheel and trying to turn the wheel using my whole body weight because I was so exhausted in that first 15 minute session! After the two sessions, my neck and arms were sore and I had bruises on the inside of my knees because I was using them to keep me centered in the kart as I slouched over the wheel.
I've seen the videos when Tiff Needle did the F1 training sessions to prepare him for an F1 drive session, plus the videos in the Ayrton Senna DVD where he took you through a whole day of his training. No wonder all of the successful F1 drivers have such thick necks.
come on guys its Schumacher... his apparently the Chuck Norris of the F1 world... as if he cant handle a bit of extra weight on his neck...
anybody know who will be driving instead of him????
^^^ the ferrari test driver, lucas badoer or something.
