is the modulo kit the one the sports comes standard with?
Has anyone with an FD (especially FD2) removed the resonator and using the stock airbox with the downpipe?
Very tempted to remove it but i dont want any loss of performance, or cause any abnormal circumstances etc.
Please PM or reply and let me know the results.
Here's a link to one

Thanks. Ive seen that thread. I prefer not to permanently cut anything off. Just want to know if any FD bros out there who has done this. Just want to know the result whether its worth doing. I have mentioned this in the noob section before but answers were from non FD owners.
Modulo is cheaper than Mugen. You could get the modulo set (front, side, rear, spoiler) for about $2000-$2500 from Honda. Mugen you will need to order from importer and itll be around $3500-$4000 both painted. Mugen has an extra piece of bodykit which is the front grille.
A replica kit will cost around $1200 and about $500 to paint. But i dont know anyone who sells replicas in Aus.
I would go for the mugen look if you have the money. At the time when i bought my car, i didnt think of the mugen kit. Just got too excited with the car and bought the modulo kit.
Yea i have the Mugen Replica Kit. I got it from a private importer in syd.
I have pics on Page 49 of this thread, they fit really well. The shop that painted and fitted it for me said it was surprisingly easy fit for a replica. He lives in syd so if u still want his contact then pm me.
hey fellas,
is there a way to somehow securely attach the Red Honda type R badge to the Honda Mugen Grill? I understand the red type R badge fits properly on the original factory grill cause of the holes but would 3M tape be the only way on the new grill? Most modified Honda Civic 8th gen cars I've seen with the Mugen grill seem to have no emblems or labels on at all, which to me looks completely ridiculous! Especially if you've just purchased the pricey Red badges and can't find a place to stick the front one.
i dont have the link, but theres some guy on ebay that sells the grille badge holder. It basically looks like a flat piece of metal with 2 screws on the bank. You screw that onto the grille then stick any badge onto the flat piece of metal. From memory it costs around $20 fully shipped. I was thinking of getting one for a mugen badge but i think some moron will come and rip it off and possibly damage your mesh grille as well
or maybe try to stick in on the front bumper or the edge of hood? :p
mugen grille without emblem coz it's replica, but if u get good and fine replica, it also comes with the emblem, i sold mine comes with mugen emblem.
it's depend where u get it.
if u want put red badge onto mugen grille, the only way is put the strong silicon glue behind red badge, and force to stick onto mugen mesh grill (do it properly and tidy). during drying, put sticky tape across red badge to mesh/mugen grill. hope it's work.;)
hey guys i found a good place to get some body kits including the mugen RR kit
http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/insid...usdm-4-dr.html
^ for the USDM civics... not exaclty gonna play nice with our more JDM shaped AUSDM civics. Their chasis code is different to our FDs. They have FGs or something like that.
just wait another 6 months, MUGEN RR replica will available on the market (type-r replica just release in overseas)
start saving and by next xmas, hopefully its out and I can buy one ^_^
I need a front bumper where can i find a niced priced one!!
do you guys think a place like JETSPEED can create a custom kits that is 99% looks like the Mugen RR kits?
hey DMX do you have more info on these new MUGEN RR replica kits for the JDM model? (as that other link is for the USDM models).
The kit looks pretty low! I love the look of the back though, very sporty, and the waves on the side skirts are big. Are the fenders an extra addition to the body kit? Front looks like it has room for a Nice BIG silver grille also :D
:Di said MAY BE next 6months replica will come out. not now ;)but pls notice, i think, if come out, i won't as simple as mugen kit (add on), i think, it would be same like type-r body kit (replica), full bumper replacement.
front bloody nice, rear looks hot (plus dual hole space for exhaust). will consider to get them too if available:D
just get a quote for mugen body kit (the copy one) they quoted me $2600 include fitting and painting.. i get front, side, rear and grille (no spoiler)
is it a good price? what u guys think?
I've seen better. 2.5k for lip kit + spoiler + grille + paint + fit. Even that sounds expensive to me for a replica mugen kit.
Add 200 bucks and they install and supply fog lights.
Denot.... where can you get a mugen lip kit for a grand painted and fitted in australia? I've looked at so many places... and none of them are that cheap. Plus those are the lips only... i.e no grille or spoiler.
yea there are a couple shops in sydney that sell mugen bodykit for $1800 inc fitting and painting... but i am not sure if there is any shop in melbourne sell the body kit around that price.. anyone in melbourne know? pls help..
hey guys, since your looking for a mugen replica kit, i remember emailing some place called "euroline" located in blackburn a WHILE back which is selling the mugen replica kit. they quoted me 2k for the front and rear lip and side skirt and another 500 for the wing and front grill painted and fitted. not too sure if they have anything in stock atm but might as well give them a call or email.
Sorry guys who pm'ed me but i just called the guy that i got my kit from and he said he's not importing anything for awhile. He said he'd be on holidays and when he gets back he'll give me a ring. So until then nothing from me sorry!

Can someone tell me what bodykit this is?
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Brand-New-HON...QQcmdZViewItem
I'm in for the group buy Mugen kit, can drive to sydney :)
stop tempting me. i already have modulo kit but with mugen spoiler and grille. maybe ill just buy the mugen rear lip only as i dont like the modulo one
can someone confirm thats its the mugen bodykit? replica that is.
it is mugen except the grille looks like the jazz grille
Yes it is the Mugen, although the wing looks really dodgy. It seems to be made of ABS. IMO i wouldn't use a ABS wing, i'd rather Fibreglass.
And yes its replica for that price
wow damn the price very cheap though , but not sure how much it will cost for painting and fitting??
i got stupid quesion actually.. normally for body kit do we paint it first and install it or the other way around... ? ;p see stupid question but i don't know the answer which way is better and saver
They will need to remove it to paint it if its on the car. So best not to install until you can afford to paint it.
Also expect to pay 500-800 to have it all painted.
this is probably the wrong thread to post but what are the parkers globe size/specs for the FD1? and also for low and high beams
planning to grab a pair of mtec's
it will be in manual
low = hb4
high = hb3
parkers = 12W 5V from memory
Agree with MarkCivicVTI. Paint before installing. Remember to get the painter to do the eye matching technique to mix paint rather than just give them the code. It will not match the colour of your car. By doing the eye matching method, you will get it to 99% accurate. So basically, get them to mix the paint using code, then hold the paint against the car. Add whatever ingredients to match it as close as possible.
Yea 500-800 sounds about right. Got mine painted + fitting for 600
Hello,, i just talked to my guy..and hes asked me how many mugen kits do I need?.. so can I get a count? he lives in sydney? do we have a driver? how many kits can you fit?
thanks
o0ohH..and if I remembered right.. its around 1200.. but if we bulk.. it would be cheaper without a doubt.. =)
whats included with the kit?
is it just side skirt, front lip rear skirt?
or include wing as well?
also is it painted for 1200?
its the side skirts.. front and rear... and wing.. and its not painted.. for 1250... he goes we can go pick it up next week if we wanted to.. =)
'yeh.. I asked him the same question..and he goes its gonna be 1100 without the wing.. =).. do we have a driver?
Sorry but I think 1100 is a bit pricey for a replica Mugen kit, unpainted and with no wing. There are a few places in Sydney which I've seen offer them for approx 800aud. Don't ask for places because the shop which first comes to mind has since closed down (it was in Hornsby).
Was It Motoeqeuip!?
hahaha Warwick, are u going to be installing a musical horn? *GRIN* :)
Is it easy to install? if yes then would it possible to install it ourselves after we get it painted?
Anyone know if this grill is available and would fit into the mugen kit? It has a badge holder!!!
http://paultan.org/archives/2008/01/...kit/#more-5431
wat is the paint code for the night hawk black?
NH black...code is b92p
I think quite alot of us are abit confused.. the site people are referring the kit to is the ebay site I showed yous a few days ago..
the one for sale for 1250 dollar is a different one.. I have a few pics of the kit.. but I dunno how to upload the pics.. any ideas?
hey with HID retrofitting when replacing the entire housing, do people use sillicone to seal the housing into the front of the car? Or does it just sit in there with clips? If the latter, would water get around the housing and into the engine, even if the actual housing is sealed?
