Ebay manifolds are cheap and shit, so are the kits u find on there as well. stay away
rather see u spend your money on quality
As said, you get what you pay for. I would never get it.
And the wastegate placement is very poor.

Get a good mani and you wont regret the money spent.
its booked in to receive a new transplant. custom making one out of steam pipe for around 1200 not sure if thats good: any thoughts...
i totally agree with FastFWD :D i bought a full race manifold, Has a LIFETIME warranty and the have AWSOME customer service... AND give great gains! problem is, u MAY have to get a new turbo, and dump pipe...
Ive seen the full race manifold on another setup, same turbo different waste gate setup though...
You get what you pay for, full stop.
Full race ramhorns go for $1000 usd. Custom is always expensive as its always a 1 off/first time. Hopefully the guy doing it for you is good.Quote:

im going to use the same wastegate, i was refer by adrian at toda of the exhaust place. forgot the name though...steam pipe is a bit smaller which might get rid of a bit of lag

weld the surports onto the flange that way its stronger when it holds the turbo up.
the ugr manifold has them aswell those turbos r pretty heavy
mines been toughened up underneath on the exhaust so touch wood *touchs head* it shouldnt crack

No a/c, i could probably fit it now with my new manifold setup but with the xspower one and the one after it both didnt fit the AC so i removed it. Plus it must of been about 40/50kg less and less pully of the crank so i removed everything for good. Piping everything.Quote:

nah not running the xspower mani anymore...chucked that.
im using an aftermarket Aluminium Radiator. Forgot the name brand but its about 3 times as thick as the stock one. Runs alot cooler. always under 82 degree's where the stock was like 87-89 and would creap up when i thrashed the car a bit
lol yeh true mine does the same unless u have the heater on the whole time coz then it dont move no matter what u run
mine runs around 97 degrees on aftermarket gauge on the bottom hose... the stock engine gauge reads normal temp... ive just bought the pwr one hopefully this will fix it
I check mine from my Power FC A-man, straight from the ECU :) was around 35 degree's outside today in perth and it was running 79 :) i was like woahh awesome

ive got a radiator shop looking into making mine a bigger capacity.. im thinkin about a 2nd radiator that is part of the 1st rad its just because space is a problem....
talk about off topic...
now back to the topic, has any one tried ak motorworks ram mani???
if the manifold i bought b4 hand doesn't work out i will be using one of theres as they are doing my kit.

Exacery. Turbo exhaust housing (when compressor housing on drivers side) needs to be at least smack bang in the middle of 2 & 3 cylinder runners to give enough room for a down pipe to clear AC compressor.
Also you can also tell if its AC friendly if the turbo flange is on an angle to clear larger frame turbos away from the engine block webbing and bell of the gearbox.

fark thats close nice manifold but and u can fit a 3inch dump to.... thats where mine fails mine can only fit a 2inch i think... though my turbo exhaust wheel is only 2inch but i think it should still b 3
My ram horn performed much better than my current Rev mani. It must have dropped .02 of a second on initial spool but it spooled up quicker and felt it held more power on the higher RPM. I wouldnt mind looking at a top mounted Ram horn style mani where the ram goes under not over and your turbo sits nicely along side your motor and is directly in front of you when you open the hood. Seems alot cleaner install.
Like this setup below, but a really nicely made one something that's not gonna break on me and has alot of support for the turbo so it doesn't crack over time.

I wonder how much a nice one would cost. I could sell my steam pipe one for a bit and get myself one of those.

AFI $1050 usd
Love Fab $1099 usd
Spoolin Performance $900 usd
None of the top makers put extra bracing on thier manifolds to support the weight. Just remember that a 'hollow pipe' is very strong. So taking that, if the material is thick enough and the welder knows what hes doing there will be no problems. Majority of those above provide full backup on thier manifolds too.

yeh plus they r made of steam pipe that helps sooo much those china manifold like mine arent.. it depends on the steel used weather it cracks or not

The ones I listed above are all Stainless Steel.
yeh but there is different grades of stainless steel on the cheap manifolds they use the cheap stainless grade thats y they crack there not designed for exhaust manifolds where things like steam pipe that comes in stainless is designed for these applications
Yeh my current is steam pipe, Very Very strong and ive had no problems yet. A-man give me a month or so to think this threw cos im thinkin about getting a new turbo.. Dropping my gt28rs and getting a gt30 or gt35/40 with high mount and tune it to 22psi or something...ill think it through.
i might take ur turbo to then...

Yeh if get the gt30r or 35/40 ill go with a top mounted bottom ram mani and get it ceramic coated etc. your right tho, keep all the heat below

15-16psi.. yehh the 2.5inch exhaust would be restricting some power
hmmm i might b back at the exhaust shop soon :p
a 2.5inch exhaust will make more power everywhere in the power band really.
and a heap more up top.
but i will keep my 2.5inch, as i quite like it. lol.

I've gone 3inch mandrel stainless steal and its great but on 7psi i do think its a bit to large but i think once ive pumped it up a bit to say 15psi+ it will be fine.
the avo kit running 204kw was that with the 2871r?
