hey all
just wondering whether an avo kit, such as the one for sale in the following thread will fit on a b18B engine ?

If so, what else would be needed for installation.
thanks in advance !

nice kit
ecu is only thing i can think of
i dont see why not man the block is the same its just ur head is different
sweet as.. gota save up some dosh real quick !
any ideas how much fitting, an ecu and tuning will set me back ? $2g ? more, less ?
for ecu proli 2g or more i guess =S
1g for ecu and 1g for tuning thats wat i have seen so far not to sure about fitting thou
what area do u live in?
and also how fast do u want it done?
depending on ecu tct is right
im in brissy man
still need to save abit more.. especially for the ecu and tuning.. altho its something that i dont wanna take shortcuts on if i end up getting the kit
dont you still need a turbo to suit? as the kit doesnt come with a turbo
yeah you'll need a turbo for that kit. Its only piping, injectors etc. need turbo still.
ecu can be had for 1500 ish inc tuning, install will vary depending on where you go. DIY is possible to save some dosh but if you know nothing about cars take it somewhere else.
^ thanks for that
its really between turboing the car or slapping in a new engine. I know that theres probably more power to be had with turboing it but Ive always felt that a well built and tuned N/A engine is a real achievement..
my current engine got around 200,000KM on it, im waiting for it to give in.. it just wont, hence why turboing it has come into my mind lol.
as the saying goes ' if honda made people, no one would ever die'
nah bro you got me wrong lol..
my plan was to get a conversion wen my current engine gives in.. but its still going heaps strong.. hence im contemplating turboing it coz it actually seems like it will be quite reliable..
if the engine was actually giving me problems than id go straight for the conversion without thinking about turbo..
hope thats clears it up lol
If you do get it turbod try take it to APC in underwood.
I got a AVO kit on my B16 and they sorted everything out for me.......... Cost me 2 grand for Hondata S100 including install and tune.........
whats the driveability like? No problems with starting or idle?
Just about spot on with my delsol B16A and Avo kit. 135kw (different tuner)
i wouldn't go with the same turbo thats in the avo kit. i'd go for something like a GT2871r.
if this is any help i use a B16b Power FC on my b16a2 and it works fine.
mine's the b16b also, but you can use the b18c one also. The only thing is that the obd is correct. Everything else can be adjusted.
I've even heard of people who have wired other model PFC into their cars.
Well thats basically how haltech motech altronics etc do there ecu setups. Basically they have 50 wires that go to 30+ sensors. Just as long as you know which sensor wires go to each sensor correctly you could pretty much setup any ECU of any car to any car
Not going to bother lol
Im a bit of a noob with turbos and everything so i found out soon after i posted that comment that my car should be making a bit more power....... Hasnt been tuned very well..........
Im going to take it up to TODA and get Adrian to retune it running on 9psi then ill have a graph to boast about hopefully lol
lol, yeah adrian know his stuff. he tuned mine and will be tuning it again soon.....
