thanks,
roughly 9kg without tyres.
And just under 18kg with tyres.
Around 15kg per cornerQuote:

I remember if you reduce unsprung weight by 1kg is equal to reduce 5kg above the suspension.
It improves handling a lot. Also lighter wheels means slightly faster acceleration. Not by much though. hehe
You can not change any hp or torque by changing wheels or flywheel if you may. It justs makes it much more easy to accelerate. You will loose inertia though but the gains you get are more worth while.Quote:

Taken from Integra section Toda Lightened Fly Wheel For DC2R???

As everyone has said... YES YES YES YES YES YES
Seriously though, this is one of the most cost effective bang for your bucks upgrades you can do on a DC2R.
The difference is sharper acceleration in 1st, 2nd & 3rd, improved engine response & better engine braking...
On the track, this translates directly into reduced lap times.
All this, with no actual power gain or compromise to reliability.
Just more effective use of what you've already got.
Works well with either an OEM clutch or heavy duty item...
The H/D clutch obviously is more fun...
PM, call or email me for pricing
Cheers

Check out this thread - seems like lighter wheels will improve dyno readings.

Cool!
Where does the power come from?
My guess is less unsprung weight at the wheels = wheels spin faster for less effort/energy = higher peak power reading.Quote:

still unsure..... but who cares? :p
Lighter is always better in my books!
what are some good lightweight tyres to go with some lightweight wheels anyone recommend any?
edit: ah this should be in the euro section
Moved. Ray's CE28N and RE30 rims are cheap.
i ment can you recommend some light weight tyres :P not rims/wheels
what about the volk te37's are they lightweights? because im planning on getting them with some continental tyres.
9 for 16"
10 for 17"
CE28N, RE30 or TE37 are all lightweight wheels.
I believe that it won't have extra power as the light wheel won't give extra power. but on the reverse. the heavier wheel need more energy to roll and the power will lost from rotating the heavy wheels. It should say "Energy lost" and the energy lost will effect on the dyno power result. Am I correct? let me know your opinion. Thanks
i've weighed my 16s with tyres and they are about 15kg. my 18s with tyres are about 22kg. say the 18" wheels weigh 12kg each..dat means de tyres weigh 10kg. do 18" tyres weigh dat much?
I think so, I got 18" Enkei RP03 and it will slow down my car compare to the stock 16" rims. I didn't weight it, but when I lift both, the 18" + tyres are heavier. not much, about 2 - 3 kg. i think
would you explain why heavier wheels work better on dyno? Thanks
I think it is cause there is more momentum once the wheels are in motion and they take longer to slowdown.
I might be wrong but light or heavy if the difference is couple of kgs diff then it plays a slight part, where as if its only 1kg diff then prob not much.
just wondering if anyone knows the weight of the stock wheels (18" lux model wheels) on the CU2?
Cheers.
i think they are on the 11-12kg mark
