i drive from adelaide to melbourne quite regularly, but when i first got the car.....
some weeks i racked up 1000kms a week :zip: and yeah i just like to drive, im always driving wherever i go, dont really like people driving me around lol :p
lol, maybe a year model might put things into perspective haha.
im on 171,000. i got the car just under 150,000 on NYE last year. which is pretty average i guess...good thing is im going away for 2 months in 2 weeks so will save me putting any more k's on the car! :D
Pffft 171 i got nearly 191 and not a single problem with my engine
agreed i've had no engine problems so far either
richard ^ we're rougly the on the same, my car's been running smooth ever since i got it. no engine problems whatsoever .
6months raked up 22,000kms oO LOL poor cu2 hahaha
Ive had my care for a year and a galf and clicked 60000 lol
bought my car at 150xxx kms with the following issues:
-Driveshafts needed to be replaced
-Front brake pads have 20% meat left.
now sitting on 162xxx kms.
and ive got 2 CEL's
When dead cold fast idling at 1.5k RPM - CEL
When half warm and keeping constant revs at anything higher than 4k rpm - CEL
When warm - fine
When VTEC or rev match from 3rd to 2nd at 70km/h - CEL
CMP internal power source failure
EMC relation failure.
Had the OBD2 read and mechanic didnt give me the codes n only the description of codes sigh.
I hope its not a chain tensioner faliure sigh...
Oh yeh, i do need to replace my APP sensor too, jerky accel at low rpm, sometimes i can put my foot flat on ground on freeway and theres a rumble but no accel whatsoever.
sigh this euro is damn annoying.
that sucks dude :( how old is your car?
04' model.
yeah i wish i didnt write off my 03. it was the best. =/
how about lowest mileage?
I have done 21000 kilometers in 17 months,I think thats slightly under average ???
sucks having to buy a 'lowish' km 04 euro and raping the odo with highway km.. i bought it in march with about 81,000 km... just hit 93,000... :(
I probably have the lowest km's example CL9... :o
- HZ
i'm surprised no one has said 'you're right i don't care..' haha
No i have an oil leak 190km and only one leak wam bam
brought my euro 2nd hand in october 09 @ 60k km, and right now its done 93k km :)
Bought my 05 CL9 in mid april @ 93xxx. Had a few problems...
Fixed em all, everything is running smooooooooth.
Now @ 106xxx
My 2004 has only 90k.
128k for mine, stil going.
What year hunterzero?
How much for a rebuilt engine if it blows you reckon?
Would you buy a motor off yahoo auctions?
yeah true shipping would kill anyway
The way i see it is i have an engine and if it goes id much rather just get it redone as you dont know whats been done to those engines regardless how clean they look. And if i were to rebuild it id look at doing full internals at the same. And you get a warranty too which is a plus
Yer k20 head would be sweet plus rbc toda cams springs and retainers should be good to role
I have had my 04 cl9 for 21 months now, at 99,984 km. Bought it at 84,400 km (roughly).
I cant find enough excuses to drive it :S
04 Lux, 124,000
06 Std, 102,000km - feels as good as new!
Baller living on st kilda road. It would be so close to work lucky as
Not looking forward to hitting 200k if I ever do LOL
Ill let you know in a few months how it feels
what sort of wear and tear major items you replaced in the car?
only thing that's close to major that i've replaced so far is the window actuator on driver's side
Yer ive done no major repairs. Im expecting to do some though soon.
I consider major parts are items such as air cond compressor/condensor, suspension arms/joints, assorbers, water pump, fuel pump, TB, power steering pump, ball joints, alternator, etc which usually cost you an arm and leg.
Nah mine are all good
Let me see mine....
Ps Hose went (then recalled)
Door actuator went (got parts from USA... Other wise $$$)
Pulley belt is on its way out
2x front headlights (the Honda recall got recalled... Lol)
took my baby out for a cruise after the shower to honor it as it reached the 100,000 mark :D. ( just after had to put ABS on, damn taxi thinks its a great idea to jump from 2nd to 3rd lane and then stop suddenly to pick up a passenger, going down hill at 70km/h speed.)
wish my abs worked...
Either you guys with high km's and no problems are extremely lucky, or my car's had a seriously hard life!
I'm currently at 78k km on mine - 07 model. Aux belt & auto-tensioner were done at 72k. Brakes are warped (have been for ages). Stock shocks are shot and need replacement - the car's feeling very underdamped compared to every near-new vehicle that I've driven, and I've had a few interesting experiences where the lack of rebound damping has had me hanging on for dear life in situations where other cars have had no problems!
On the plus side though, the engine still pulls hard and the rest of the car feels as tight as a drum - no rattles (asides from the bloody sunroof rubbers which need lubricating every once in a while), and no real signs of wear anywhere else.
The belt might have stretched. But if the tensioner was not rattling, then there is no need to replace it (you'll see it bounce around if the tensioner is worn).
If yours is an auto, then it is not warped. The shitty OEM pads will leave deposits on the hot discs. Just give it a quick sand and replace the pads with any aftermarket ones.
Is your car lowered on springs? If not, then you might be cornering too quickly or you drive really quick over poor condition roads or speed bumps.
Tensioner was rattling and bouncing at idle at the time. The belt was actually fine, but figured for an extra $30, no point in just doing the tensioner!
Replaced with aftermarket pads already (RacingBrake ET300)! Have to say that whilst the situation did improve over OEM pads, some brake shudder still exists. At least it's now at a "bearable" level as opposed to the "I hate using the brakes" level.
Had the car since 62k. Not sure if the previous owner had done anything to it but it was bone stock when I picked it up. Never been lowered during the time I've had it.
I definitely don't corner too quickly ;), but like for like on same (poor condition Sydney) roads at the same speeds, my own car is underdamped as compared to say a new Jetta, Mazda6, or even the facelift CU2. There is a section of road that we use at work for suspension benchmarking - it consists of a big dip (i.e. downhill, immediately followed by an uphill section) that is taken at 90km/h. Most new cars we've taken through there will handle it with no excessive rebound, whilst my CL9 felt like it bounced a whole foot off the ground and was definitely an "oh $@^$!!" moment!
Not trying to stir sh*t here though - I still absolutely love the car and am happy to sink money into it to get it fixed, despite the fact that it would be slightly cheaper and less problematic for me to sell up and lease a company car instead!
considered getting new sussy setup? coilovers maybe?
Definitely - new springs and shocks is the next thing on the cards for me!
Not going to go with coilovers though as I personally believe that it's just not appropriate for a daily driver, and I'm not after a huge drop either - something like Tein H-tech (1" front, 0.7" rear) would be perfect for me. Am weighing up between Konis or Bilsteins at the moment - Koni's have the mounting collar for the HID levellers and are rebound adjustable, but the Bilsteins are monotube, generally perceived to be better, and I may be able to get a good price on them through work.
Got that pesky 80k service to pay for first though!
Don't forget H&R springs, 1" front and rear
Thought the H&R OE Sport was .75" front and .5" rear? For that sort of drop I'd just throw a set of Koni yellows on the lowest perch and be done with it!
Was originally looking at spending less than $1200 shocks and springs only, but willing to stretch the budget for Bilsteins if I can get a good price. Labour and camber kit extra of course, though having looked at the technical documentation for Acura's CL9 A-spec kit (similar drop in rear), I may be able to get away with no camber kit for such a mild drop.
06 6mt,
Bought at 19k km 3 years ago
I'm currently on 52k km
January this year was 50k km. So only 2k km done this year so far.
Keeping it freshhhhh!
'05 Euro Man Std
206k, bought new
And I am sure that Euro srill has plenty of life left in it...
04 euro
169000 km
Okay.
Mine has 277K on it, had the car for 18 months. Put a new Alternator recently, and heater fan resistor last weekend. Apart from that it has either a small miss or vibration at really light revs at any speed.
94000 km on a CU 2012 model.
