Nooo! Leave it be!
y leave it be?
I'd like to know this also. I'm guessing it can be done, but the wiring would be a bitch.
Ive got a Type R DC2 cluster in my '91 gen 2(with the round cluster hood cover),dunno whether it will fit if u got the square hood cover.Fits really well, you have to customise the side brackets a bit,but not hard with a pair of tin snips & a bit of creative bending or you could just jam the cluster in with bits of foam to hold it in place nice & tight.

Wiring wasnt hard, you just need to get the plugs to go with the cluster with a little bit of wiring hanging off them,so u can cut & join the original wires on.I could give you the wiring instructions if u want.Ive also got a JDM DC2 VTiR cluster for sale if u want it,just no plugs to go with it,u would have to find someone with a DC2 dash harness spare.
lol man this is giving me ideas for my gen 2 lol
lol ye ns I cant wait to get DIYin on myn lol
I forgot to mention one other thing the DC2 cluster has an electronic speedo,so you would have to replace the cable VSS in your g/box with an electronic one.I dont know whether you can get an electronic VSS for a D series box, maybe off an EG or something, cos i got a B series g/box already.
I have put a speedo drive from a D15B7 ( eg gli ) into a B series gear box and it worked fine.
awsome work btw, looks really nice.
i dunno if ill do the cluster change..... tacho goes up2 8500 rpm myn peaks at 7000 lol damn D series
now rev that d16a to 8500
There you go,question answered,u can get a speedo sensor for your D series box,add that to your shopping list.Quote:

cool work.
might kinda forget u're in an EF looking at tat cluster while driving hehe.
question: when doing cluster swap. are u able to adjust odo kms reading to the actualy km travelled? or watever milage shows in the cluster will b plugged in as is?
that can be done, but its a delicate procedure.
hmmm well I use an external Tacho anyhows so im gonna go down to wreckers today and find a nice Cluster and hook it up, I saw a nice DC2 cluster there a week ago ill go get it with plugs and all can you put up wirein diagram please CRXer
Yeah could you please post up the diagram, or email to: info@aesthetiks.com.au
Cheers bud.
The wiring below is based on looking at the cluster from the rear & the plug on the left being the A plug, the plug on the right being the B plug for both clusters.
The numbers A1 to A16,etc reading from left to right as demonstrated in the pic below, again for both clusters. The pic being of the DC2 cluster.
NOTE:Label the CRX wires before u cut the plugs off,as there are some wires that have the same colours.

A4 blue/white > - low fuel light
A5 -
A6 orange > A2 yel/red speedo (join new wire from VSS onto this join as well)

there are 3 wires
