I actually found this item on Ozhonda.Someone had fitted this to thier car and Highly recommened it,so I got one and It is so good :thumbsup: It takes the 'sponginess' out of the brakes by making Zero 'firewall flex' :cool:

So how does it actually perform compared to not having it?
"takes the 'sponginess' out of the brakes" - do you mean when you stomp on the pedal it won't be... soft anymore?
They work great when it comes to feel but i read somewhere that it causes the shock tower to flex changing the geametry of your suspension under brakes.
I think on that goes from the chassis rail to the MC will stop that.
Dont get me wrong i like them just a few thing to think about.

It makes a world of difference.Without it I was considering a big brake upgade but $$$.

I remember when I saw it on here the guy who had it on his car said he now has complete confidence to go down the steep hill at the national park knowing his brakes will be there if he has to stop suddenly.

But for most applications its great so dont worry just something to look out for when racing but it does an amazing job of improving feel.

any one know what the diff between the EK ones with ABS and for NON-ABS cars is ? im using a ITR Brake booster/MC, dont know which one to buy... my car has no abs but the brake booster was from a dc2r, which had abs.

I feel it.
you'll not get super powerful braking, its just a more direct feel of the brake pedal.

It's the 'firewall flex' that it stops,so maybe your firewall is stiff as?
Do U know a steep down sloping road you usually drive on?
This is a good test for it.You know when you go down a steep street,sometimes it feels like you have to put your foot through the floor for it to stop and it,this should take that away and the brake will be there.Therefore giving you confidence with the brake pedal.
are these brake stoppers universal fit? or made for custom application per vehicle??
just out of pure curiosity how do you guys wind that little stopper onto the master cylinder ?
I had a job once on a GTR that had one of these installed and the stopper adjusted till max, needless to say it came in for braking issues where it was found that it was locking up at heat, after some time and investigation the push rod inside the master cylinder was bent so I'm just wondering has anyone had this problem as of yet ?
The instructions state to leave a small gap between the stopper and the master cylinder.
The brake stopper would not be a contributer to the bent shaft in the master cylinder, unless it was installed wrong, which is pretty hard to do. The shaft and piston slide free, of the master cylinder and the stopper. The problem would have been from a part failure and/or from seazing promoting the bend. Hell, pushing as hard as you could on the brake pedal while the car is off in the garage could have initially caused it, who knows.
Well we didn't want to pursue the matter so we just came to the conclusion it was due to the brake stopper contributing to the bent rod, time is money in the industry as they say.

its the jap instructions hahah. i think i seen a picture on a cusco demo car with the brake stopper right on the brake cylinder. could be wrong but
did the cusco part come with bolts to fit onto the firewall or did you use your own?
It came with bolts! and the holes were already there on mine,so no drilling required!
has anyone ever seen these for a rb2 odyssey??????????????

yes common sense is tru, you wouldnt tighten it as tight as you could cause the firewall needs to flex a lil bit. i can see where Bludger is coming from, other wise at long distance under high braking force this would could cause damage to your firewall/brake cylinder

I've seen a couple of pics of home made jobs.I reckon without the screw in bit,it will still work ok but when it's screwed in and nice and firm it will work more effectively.You can easily imagine/envision that.Needs to be firm and tight to work effectively.
So when you push the brake pedal hard,it won't budge a bit.Tight.

no drilling required, just mounts on two studs at suspension top, remove existing cable bracket, tuck wires under the stopper and secure them with cable ties.
epic revive, but i was thinking of getting one of these until i read somewhere that it doesn't work on abs equipped cars...
can anyone confirm if these would work on a dc2r with abs?

I actually liked mine. Brake obviously works the same with or without. Brake 'feeling' though is definatly better.
I paid one or one twenty....... four or five years ago.
I reckon it was worth it.

It bolts to the 2 front UCA bolts.
