WOW! is that a turbo?
Stealth!
Pod filter is in a stupid place. You wouldnt want to be driving through any puddles
should route the pod inside the car and blast the a/c on it lol
wow thats the first time i've seen this. very interseting.
imagine the lag on it, from the long ass intercooler piping
imagine the lag, and imagine the sound.
That shit would be so loud!
i seen this on a beemer here in syd
not that loud
actually sounds pretty nice
when i researched it... it was a common thing on vipers... i guess they have limited engine room.... i dunno
oh thats the beemer hahaha on that site
I wonder what they get around the oil feed & drain.
It appears that they're not connected in the pic.
Water lines aren't connected either...
This would be an issue with a Garrett GT turbo as the bearing cage is teflon.
how illegal is that :D and check out how gangster the wastegate is haha. i can imagine that popping flames 24/7. he'll definately suffer from that wining noise coming from the rear housing of the turbo,. and were the hell are the water and oil lines? ++ wouldnt that pod filter suck in all that dirt from the rear left wheel? jus imagine a burn out, dusty track or a wet rainy day with some nice deep puddles haha. turbo = gonskies. but far out, thats a unique way of a turbo setup
No cat back exhaust any more its all turbo back now lol
never know there might be a cat and the turbo is spun by cat back exhaust.
Also maybe cos its so far back it doesn't need the cooling as from when it comes straight from the headers, just a thought
videos of this in action please.
looks like a very silly design for FR or FF...
Is the a oil or water line hanging down there? ehehehhe

FFS man lol crazy designs out there
WTF?!?!?!? indeed............
the bloke that did my mod plates up here in QLD has a Chev Silverado with one of these on it. surprisingly it is not laggy at all, it gets excellent air flow, plus no overheating. his ute makes 600hp
cant drive at rain
if he's got the right design wheels (spirally suction-fan-like), then thats a reasonable spot to have the pod, except it will start sucking hot air in the moment the brakes start warming up.
if the turbo is catback and muffler back, i can see it producing less power due to slower exhaust flow, and maybe making it even more laggy. i can imagine it would be nasty if unburnt fuel decided to combust and backfire right into the turbo.
And I thought the longest turbo/FMIC/IM piping length I would ever see was on a SW20 with the piping running through the middle of the cabin.....
ahahaha yeah imagine it in the rain through a puddle.... whisp whispp.. its not the BOV its just the turbo letting off steam
theres an ford ba xr8 ute here in melb that runs the turbo set up like this but i dont think his turbos are that far back more to the middle of the car. His run a 10sec pass on stock motor with a setup like this running 2 small turbos. My gf's uncle spoke to him about the setup but cant remember what he said about it but ill ask him again...
the good thing about having a turbo setup like this is u dont need a custom manfold made
BUT the down side is... because the turbo is so far away from the engine the exhaust gas takes alot more time to get into the exhaust housing to spool up the turbo which means u will notice its more laggy
the upside is the engine will have more top end because there is less back pressure in the exhaust system
this was a hot topic on the evo forums..
apparently.. it works better than the conventional turbo setups
