My build thread. (Black Ek1 Hatch)

Hey guys.

Ever since playing NFS underground where you could choose the honda civic i have loved them. So i finally got around to buying one The civic is my second car, after i clocked up a healthy 350,000+ kms on an 88' nissan pulsar hatch which i had never had any problems with i might add. After 3 months of searching around i finally found what i wanted, a black civic hatch. After test driving the civic i told my dad that this was the car i wanted. He handed over the cash. (dont worry i have to pay him back :() Anyway enough talk from me, here is what i want to do with it at the moment off the top of my head:


These are long term mods:

Engine conversion (b18c, K20, h22a) unsure atm
High flow turbo and all the goodies to go with it


There is more but i cant think of them all. This is a passion and it gives me something to do. It may take a while for all this to be done but bit by bit im saving my pennies in the hope to create a car that is unique, fun to drive and that has around 200kw just so i can smoke those wannabe tuff holdens.

I will update this thread as i add/change things in my car.

If your serious about turbo don't waste money on headers.

Unless you can score some cheap to tie you over until it's turbo time.
I would leave the stock taillights in,much better than any aftermarkets ones.

A Turbo header is different to a N/A Header.So if you get one now you will have to change it to a turbo header when you turbo it.

Ok guys here is my 2nd installment. On the 6th of december i began to pry me headlights apart to spray the housing black, (thanks for the DIY write up on OH) the car spent the night with no headlights and no bumber sitting in the garage. The next morning i woke at 7 to begin prying open the second headlight and get on with the job. I rang my mate a little later and got his lazy ass out of bed to give me a lift down town. When we got back we pulled the headlights further apart and began to spray the housing. 5 coats of matt black with 20min intervals(felt like forever). Anyway we got it done and put em back together and sealed em up. Here is the end product.

Ok so i thought id finally get and put a RAM intake on. On christmas day i rounded up the tools and spens the 1st half of the day installing it. Here are some pics of my new intake. :)

After driving it for 2 days it has increased acceleration and responsivness and the intake noise is is a loud sucking noise, it had also made the engine sound deeper. Looks pimpin too hehe.

need to neat up them hose there.. just trace the hose from first port on the mainfoild and use the hose that is on the throttle and get rid of the metal pipes make sure do it quick cause coolant will rush out.. and use that blue hose from your intake to your breather on your rocker cover

Hey guys have decided to keep working on the body so when i finish uni i can drop my new engine straight in and my car will be paid off.

Havnt had much time or money to keep spending on the car but i have some now so lets get the cosmetics done :)

Hey guys today wasnt too good.

I recieved my foglights, they didnt fit all that well so i spent all day working on them. The right one holds in well but the left one was not working. After trying to get it to fit we ended up snapping the tab that holds the fog light cover over the light and the hole that is cut out.

So now its super glued and im waiting till tomorrow to begin fitting it again, hopefully if not i will have to find another way :(

And if i cant find another way then i will either have to file down the fog holes to make them look nice and continue using that bumper or get a whole new bumper...hopefully it just works out tomorrow.

Also my lips came from JDMYard.

OEM Type R front lip and Replica rear Type R lip.

Just gave it a quick wash here it is with the gogz installed. I couldnt work out the electrics so looks like im going to have to pay for it to be done unless someone on here will help me out :)

do you have ur foglight harness installed? If there the ebay fog lights the harness is completely different to OEM, let me know if u ned help installin them? they're actually pretty easy to install and not worth paying for

yea yea sorry lol yea ill find the information i used to install mine for you...it'll help and make the installation easy and it shouldn't take to long...

cos i remeber doing mine first time i was confused to lol even went n asked to get installed pro, was quoted like 180 just for the wiring harness...:thumbdwn:

Tell me about it, lol. Just want the res from it removed but want to keep the air filter container and attach a new pipe to the end to cancel out the factory res.

Wire (A.) is the Ground wire; please make sure this goes to a secure area where no other wires are connected to. Any metal connection should do fine.

The Female Connector (B.) in connects to the accessory pannel above the fuse box within the dash (Last image). Connect the female connector into option 4, this is the the best option to connect the connector to (If you want the Fogs to turn on with the parker lights).

Connector (C.) connects to the rest of the harness which goes into the engine bay, this connector must connect to Connector (E.) in Figure # which goes through the firewall of the driver side.

Part (D.) is the switch to turn the fog lights either on or off, so obviously this installed in the interior.

Ground wire (F.) connects to a ground location at the front of the chassis.

Connector (G.) Connects to the left Fog Light. And connector (H.) connects to the right Fog Light.

Wire (I.) is just extra wire to connect Connectors (C.) and (E.) together.

Relay (L.) can be bolted to a screw anywhere around the right hand side of the engine bay and Fuse (J.) is just the fuse.

Connector (K.) connects to the Postive (+) of the battery.

This is the same harness I used, hopes this info helps and makes it easier for you to install.

Hey guys,

I havn't posted here for ages so i thought i would.

Since my last post i have not done much to my car at all.

I have put the new sussy in so now it doesn't look so much like a monster truck, at the moment i'm waiting for new tires as the ones i have now are pretty low profile, )195/45/r15) so i'm looking at 195/55/15 or 205/50/15 to fill the gap between the fender and tire.

The car is low enough at the moment (to the ground) for everyday driving.

Oh lol, still waiting to get my lip painted ha.

Anyway here is a pic of it atm.

Yeah struggling to find the spare 150 bucks or so to get it painted cause centrelink is dicking around getting back to me about my youth allowance application, such bad service.

Front bumper, lip and fog covers sprayed, i seen them today but i have to pic up in the morning they are still a bit tacky.

2 new wheel studs put in to replace the ****ed up ones. Cost - $75.00 as it took a fair while.

Front mudflaps now fitted.

Also i would advise not to use alloy nuts and stick to metal nuts as the alloy nuts have begun sticking to my studs, new nuts have been ordered and will be here next week.

Will post pics tomorrow of new bumper etc.

Atm im just going to a clean look since im poor and cant change the engine.

Also in the process of stoping my car from rev hunting...
