Hey Guys
My radiator slowly fill’s up the overflow bottle and doesn’t suck it back in like it should..
I upgraded to 50mm aluminum radiator as I thought my stock one was not holding up but the new one also has the same problem so I would guess its something ells?
Any ideas?

ill check radiator cap first, replace that. If not then looks like your up for a new headgasket

you need someone with an air compressor and the proper attachment to go into your spark-plug holes ~ im sure some of the bigger more reputable places have got it. Gave Robert or peter @ hannys a call yet ? Or anyone here know of a place in syd with the proper leakdown kit ?

There might be a small leak from headgasket pushing gases thru the cooling system. This can be cause thru detenation. As i said i was in a similar situation and learnt the hard way by changing thru 2 head gasket only finding it wasn't the issue it was detenation and cause the head gasket to leak.
The added pressure is there which cause the overfill bottle to fill up, and not return to the system.
Here is a simple test. When cold start up the car, lets say 2-3min. turn off and remove the radiator cap. When you relase pressure cap if abit of coolant comes out thats seems normal, but if a shitload of coolant bursts out then you have a headgasket problem.

my ones leaking as well. but its really weird. i fill it all up including the overflow bottle to the MAX point. i drive for awhile (20 min)...have a look to see if there are any leaks. nothing...
i pull to the side of the road. pop the hood to see the overflow bottle has been strangely filled all the way to the top. i get home and park it. i come out a maybe 3 hrs later to see that i have NOTHING in both radiator and overflow bottle...
what's the problem? is my radiator busted? need help...don't want to spend $220 for a new radiator.

There's not to many hoses from the motor to the radiator, only two..
Check all four hose clamps and make sure there all good and check the hoses for any cracks
yea i might go buy new hoses 2moro and replace my bleed valve. so you rkn it's got nothing to do with the radiator itself?
bcoz from what i've seen from underneath the radiator with the engine on + coolant filled up. there are no signs of leakage...

That's a lot of coolant disappearing into no where :( nothing on the ground near by or under the car?
the bottom radiator tank can burst, at the seams, but only when hot...
look for seepage around the metal/plastic join part of the top and bottom radiator tanks...

Can it be the pressure type radiator cap?
Or just the Overflow is not big enough for the larger size radiator?

Consider the factors -
engine was "rebuilt" to OEM spec. Car was then boosted.Loose tolerence or issue in the build might be a reason for premature wear / possible HG issue ?
