crazy!
WHAT!! OMG that's nuts !!
nice !!! power specs and times????
and this will fit in ur average EG/EK/DC2?
fark me soon the price for these motors will go up as well
like the K series
some thing new
so is the f20c gonna be better then the k series >?
would the performance of the car be much different as its been swap from north and south to east and west
They are doing some testing as We speak
Results will be out soon
hey by anychance is that the same engine like the spoon f20/k20 engine?
the one where they used the k20 bottom end n block n used s2000 pistons, cams head etc etc ?
or is it 100 percent f20c ?
thats cool, i read about that and i cant wait to see more
k series just lost baller status
its the start of the end of another era
cant wait to see specs and times
lol bit of a shitty ending i wanted to see it on the track
does anyone kno if it'll be the same as fittin in a k series or gonna be a bigger bitch, and anyone got stats? power? times?
what wud be better. K or F series
and if there are kits to fit em like engine mounts etc
Looks like it's in it's early stages, may have to wait a bit for more info...
wat car duz f20c come from?
^ S2000.
I've seen a couple of these projects going in the US actually, although I think Inline Pro is the first. I'd like to know how they set up a RWD engine in a FWD car (in regards to sump and oil feed etc.), although it probably wouldn't be that much of a change.
Pretty cool!
thought so
So just for the noobies:) the f20c is 'better' than the previously K20,right?
Its a natural powerplant! The F20c has about 180kw give take a few depending on the country, and 200nm of torque. Thats crazy! Put it into a light chassis like the Eg and power 2 weight ratio is up there with some very expensive cars.
f series > k series.
f series $$$ > k series $$$.
well it'll be logical to think that.
they wouldnt make a kit if its shitter than the current kits out.
awsome
very very cool project....cant wait to see how it goes =]
I've always wondered if this was possible... now i have confirmation
Gotta love the engineers @ honda
Is Inline pro itself, or hasport etc making these a readily available conversion mount set???
*Off topic but would it also be possible to mount an NSX V6 into the nose of an S2000 (FR layout) with a little mixing a matching???
Looks good.. but is it really worth it? S2k are so dear compare to a normal K20a engine. For the money, you could of easily built a k20a engine to make more power than an stock s2k engine.
Good looking project, but cost would be an issue.
The cost is very high. but its also about being different and being the first do achieve it!
I can get a f20c full engine gearbox wiring ecu
The lot for $5600 plus shipping from japan :p
You guys reckon that is good.
...now where is that bandwagon?
there was an ek with a f20c in the forsale section from qld last year from what i remember.
i would of thought that f20s are alot more expensive than k's seeing its from an s2k - therefore not many has done such
i was thinking when i get a full time job as an engineer, then i will try to pay someone or try to build an EG with MR layout, nsx engine in the car behind the front seat, take the rear seats out, completely redesign it, the have it runs on rear wheels,
u guys think it is possible??? i always have this crazy ideas.......... but it is really expensive to buy the engine.
i have seen someone put a W12(2 V6 engine) in the back of the VW Golf, that car has 500+kW, increase the qidth of the rear shaft, so that the car has more banlance, but yet the car still spin like a nuts once u plate the foot down, insane to the max
I think you need to decide what you are hoping to achieve first of all. Yes its possible, everything is possible. Limiting factor is money. Will you get it registered ? Doubt it. How much will it cost? $50k doesn't seem like a bad guess. In the end you have an EG that cost you $50k.
Well you could get a trophy for a lot less, same with the magazine. It is definitely possible ! Although i could think of many other ways to get a trophy for the money you'ld spend doing the job.
$50k is just too much money to spend on a car unless your loaded in the first place.
its a passion, you really cant put a price on that. ppl do all sorts of crazy shit 2 cars and everyones got different extremes
If ya passion is gonna get U into debt then don't do it.Think with your head not your heart.
i remember watching youtube of EG/EK's with a v8 engine transplant, it was going crazy loosing control, spinning out all over the place.
its just a waste spending so much money into sumthing thats undrivable.
if you really want sumthing insane for power to weight might as well make a v8 gokart lol.
id rather a 1000cc CBRR motor in a gokart :D
fcuk converting a f20c to front wheel drive
Just buy a S2000 I say, if you really want F20C power :P
Yup,ya gotta have hobbie or something to keep ya mind off ya mind. You just don't want to get into too much debt over it.A bit of debt is fine though.Anyways,I will be starting to sound like a parent if I keep going....
Do it man and give me a ride in it when ya done LOL :)
insane
i told you not to post pics of my car :(
I have seen this conversion done on Honda-tech... even they over there believe its more a ...
"wow look at what i can do" factor...... then "bang for buck"
Imo dont really think the F20c would be that much quicker. but still its pretty dam cool... if only it were RWD
those people that say "why spend 50g on an civic.?"
theres a bloke who owns an SX corolla who has spent upwards of 100g on it...
thats a waste imo
endless discussions / debate LOL
endless spam more like it.
its a cool idea but once demand goes up for the engine so will prices and we will be where we are now with the kseries.
any ideas on how much the kit will be?
will it just be engine/gbox and mounts, or wiring harness/adaptor as well?
i like the sounds of it
jdm yard's eg one day
egf 20c
any news on this?
yeh turns out it was an april fools joke, and you all fell for it HARD !
lolwut
