I would suggest at least 20w - 50 or thicker (20-60). Nothing wrong with thick oil especially with worn engines =)

Depending on the distance your traveling and the age (and km's) on your car.

If you have an older, i would carry some water and oil in the boot. And check your oil level and water level every few...

maybe check your tire pressures?
get some light weight wheels?

i get about 500 per tank.. but thats in a vtir, with vtec'ing about 30% of the time.

i got whiteline front and rear sway bar (on ek1) with the rear on the harder setting.

I havent had any problem yet with the subframe tearing (been on car about 40,000km). And the handling greatly...

i think it depends alot of the km's on the car and how much you use high revs. ie. high km on engine + thin oil + high vtecing = faster oil burning.

Maybe try using thicker oil to reduce...

Perhaps you could check your spark plugs? And run some injector cleaner? Used to help my old car =]

vtir teg, i get about 450km per tank. With normal 3-4k changes and and some vtec driving
