The type S was produced late 04 so there are a few 04 type s's floating around. In regards to the K&N debate vs others there are a lot floating around so just have a search.
from my experience it feels firmer then the other b series shift linkages. prob due to the fact they are thicker. if your not happy with your shifter feel try change the shift bushings first.
a lot of the dc2's you see on honda-tech are just gsr's (vti-r) with facelifted bars and sidemoulds removed. they look exactly like a dc2r from the outside.

lol thanks guys. it's fuked one side it came out no problem the other none of the bolts would come out. also after taking it out i noticed that the evo's front slide adjuster is attached to the seat....
depends on what size throttle body you running man. but even if they are different i think you can get silicon fitments which connect two different size pipes.
