No dude it shouldn't. Every time I reset my ECU I disconnect the battery and stomp on the brakes until the light don't flash anymore. Reset the ECU every time.

You are hopefully going to remove the cars power (ie Remove the earth cable!) before you start uninstalling it! The ECU will be reset in anyway cause you have removed the power!
