all good. i went for the twin loop in the end with 2.25 inch piping and a large hi flow resonator. sounded awesome. i dont have the car anymore so its someone elses nice sounding car now. :-)
i've had 2 pistons let go on me. took a inch chunk out of one. car still ran but it basically lost all the oil and sent it into the Alfa Romeo that was driving behind me at the time....... He wasnt...
massive buzz or fart is definitely something gone a miss. we got same engine, same muffler. only difference is headers. i've even heard guys on here running no hotdogs or resonators and the...
if anything i would have thought a larger pipe would make it deeper. i got 2.25 catback, and its basically silent at idle. but barks on WOT. cruising is just a nice hum.
me too. the ITR engine swap into an EG is the most user friendly. makes for a damn quick little car specially if you add headers, intake and exhaust. im guessing would be somewhere around 140hp...
Engine bay would be tight, but its been done enough now that there are some good mount kits available. im sure a number of people on here could recommend kits.
Tuning...
very true but if thats all you had to spend to have a K powered EG you're long way ahead. a B18 swap is going to cost you 6k for halfcut plus labour if you cant do the work your self. pretty sure...
thats not just opinion, thats fact..... But when you consider the benefit of the type R engine..... Extra power, better gearbox ratios, LSD that 3k starts to seem worth it.
for a great daily with awesome track potential i would go the B18c of some sort... Buying a type R halfcut would net you a great brake upgrade to a 282mm front disc brake. with a nice high temp pad...
ha ha nice. gotta get rid of my civic first then convince the boss that she needs a new car. she loving her 09 City at the moment so might be a bit of a task.
i think great. lots quieter when cruising. has a deepish sorta growl now with the B18. the droop tip out the back seems to eliminate that raspy bark you get when in the Vtec ranges.
what sort of boost will you be getting to??? Perhaps if you are heading upwards of 14psi then perhaps you might want to look at the larger diameter exhaust. Alot of the boosted civics around here...
twin loop's usually flow quite well. i'd be surprised if the was limiting your power. thats the idea of them, essentially a hiflow muffler but bexause the gas goes thrpugh twice they are quiet.
If you are buying a clutch replacement kit, make sure it comes with new spigot (spelling??) bearing and pressure plate to match your new clutch with the appropriate clamping pressure. Of course,...
Funny thing, I changed pods on stock intake arm and instantly felt difference. Changed from no name filter to a K&N pod. I guess its the benefit of having the extra capacity of the B18 I don't...
