For what its worth I have been assured that the units on offer from Sydney Installers will not affect the CD stacker

I have confirmed that the devices on offer Sydney Installers WILL charge iPhone 3G.

I have also been assured that having this unit installed will not effect my CD changer.

I am also contemplating setting up the xcarlink in my car - surely the ability to charge your iPod/iPhone and play mp3's through the stock system far outweighs any intermittent hissing sounds?

I havent read every post in this thread but you might like to consider a Mini foldup keyboard that connects via bluetooth for your keyboard needs?

I think I have localised the problem..

I ran the speaker cables for the sub down the opposite side to the power/remote wires..

I plugged it all back up and turned the car on to no avail.. Still...

The guy who hooked the speakers up for me did a pretty professional job.. Stripped all the cords neatly, twisted the wires together, then soldered and taped them back up...

Whereas in my mates...

I had a sub-contractor come to me and do it.. Im not sure whether there was a warranty but ill look into it..

I opened the bastard up after rooting a number of screws and couldnt see what I thought was a fuse..

Took a picture anyway, nothing looks burnt out but if you see anything that resembles a fuse...

Hmm cheers ill test it out.. the thing is.. I used the ampmeter/voltmeter on the remote wire and the negative and it seemed like there was a current coming through :S

Found out the problem while ****ing around today.. There was one or two tiny stray wires from the remote that were touching onto the positive power contact and thus it was leaving the amp turned on.....

The thing is.. Everything has been working fine until now.. The amp has been turning off when the headunit is off/car is off, and turning back on when I turn the car on again..
