Yep as konektado said - sounds like the common problem with a transistor burning out on the head unit circuit board. Either replace the transistor, replace the circuit board or replace the head unit....

The second problem is very common. I fixed mine by removing the head unit and replacing the blown transistor. I had to order the transistor for the states. Got a couple of spares, I can send you one...
