I'm looking for a DIY guide so that I can see if I can tackle it on my own before...

So here's my experience with my local dealer today...

I had previously had my car serviced at this dealer for the second 10k 6mths service. However, I was at work and had to send dad to drop off...

I just had my 20k service done today.
Similar to your story, they also tried to con me into doing a "recommended" fuel injector clean...

Does anyone use the octane booster additive that you put after filling up?? Is it recommended and or does it work well?

Yeah I think I cable tied mine on that bracket too from memory. My cable ties actually go through the holes and around the ballast to hold it on tight. I hope the ballasts don't get hot coz that...

Don't forget you need to buy a 2 din dash kit to fit the double din into your dash...

yeah my FD2 squeals as well. Due for service in a few thousand K's so I'm gonna tell the dealer then as well.

Derrick - Did you ask about the colour? Apparently they're not sure whether or not the colour matches with the FD dash colour.

yeah likewise I only use standard unleaded on my FD2. Agreed that the extra 10c or more a litre is a waste. Only ever tried ethanol once (10% one from Shell). It went fine but I'm reluctant to use...

Had my FD2 for a year now mate but haven't come across that one.

I'll give it a try but I don't recall such a thing, I'm sure I would have picked it up by now.

BTW - I just found the double din kit from jdmconcept. A little bit dearer at $190 but I think it should be the same colour. Probably worth checking with them.

yeah I agree with you on the colour issue. If it's any other colour that doesn't match, it stuffs up the whole original interior look, especially on a new car this is important.
