it's located on the tank itself, under the passenger side headlight, you have to remove the front passenger wheel well cover to get at it....

Sounds like a worn out clutch master cylinder,
if it was ok then after heaps of stop start driving,it would explain the fluid loss and potential jamming or damage to the cylinder.

If its an Auto and fluid comes out very dark, and the magnet on the sump plug is chocked up, try changing it out 2 or 3 times over a few weeks, helps flush it out...

Gearbox had about 250K on it and it shifts very well and is quiet, they pretty strong and reliable, not like there is masses of power running through them.
ask as many questions as you want it...
Amazingly $1700 Including Gear box, from honspares in melbourne.
$700ish for gearbox and parts related, ie shifters, pedals, mounts clutch etc.
the rest was new clutch and various bits...
It took all up 4 days, had a few issues getting stubborn CV joints out of the hub.
It cost me total for parts about 1700, i did the swap myself, so free labour and lots of patience.
