not surer if the DC2 has the igniter in the distributor or not, but this can give a hot start problem is the igniter is getting too hot and old. Other option might be the main relay on its way out.

DC4 - does that have the factory ABS? And airbags if so you'd be technically getting a safer car for the road. Cruise control?
