Are the P08 ecu's compatible with P28's? The P08 plugs in, but should it still work??

What im saying is, if i bought a 2ndhand comp, could i get it tuned to my specs..Spoon ECU's are tuned on 101 octane and the highest we get is 98..Is that such a stoopid question?
