How bizarre. My wipers are stock EK wipers and Rain X is one of my favourite things in the world.. I guess it works differently with different wipers.

Yep, that's the prefacelift (96-98) lip. The top of the 99-00 lip covers up most of that silver area just above where your lip is now.

The front doesn't hang below the bumper too, it is sort of supposed to overlap it.

Hmm.. where did you get the lip from? Might need to check whether it's the correct one for your ride. I've got a Honda access lip on an EK and it fits quite snugly. The pictures will help.
