Yeah I worked it out eventually.
Changed the 8 watt lamps for 10 watt while I was in there. Much brighter now.

I always do extensive searches before posting questions on forums and any questions I put on here are because I genuinely need help..

It went well.
I hung the cable up by its bracket then repeatedly sprayed Inox into the top and worked the cable inner up and down.
Eventually, the bottom end of the cable became wet with the Inox...

I found a mechanic who told me to squeeze the back of the white plastic cable end. It has tabs that lock into the top of the pedal.
Only a matter of undoing two nuts then to remove from the inside.
