You're prolly best off just grabbing a used OEM one. I think the AP1s go for pretty cheap. OR you could splurge a bit and get the AP2s while you're doing it..
Actually yeah I've found that too, particularly after I took the top of the airbox off. In summer, it can bog quite badly if you've been sitting in traffic for a while. Not really surprising...
Also have a look for wear on the factory door mats, wear on the leather of the seats, particularly on the side ass bolster (these get hammered on basically all of them from ppl getting in and out)....
Dont go crazy on it until its warmed up. Same as with any car. If you do, there may not be enough oil lubricating the internals and you may damage important bits.
