I would have thought it would hit the rev limiter at the redline mark, which is about 7500rpm, not 5000rpm. So the redline mark only applies when moving and not in neutral?
The wife has a FD 06 Civic VTi. Not sure why I did this today, but in neutral I decided to floor the accelerator. Expecting the tacho to hit the 7000rpm redline, but instead the engine...
Been doing research on a PS fluid leak from the LH front sterring rack boot and found that others have had problems of fluid leaks into the rack, then out of the boots. I found this TSB...
Ok, so steering rack loosing fluid. What about problems with the meta; black trim turning white? I got the usual excuse "it is the detergent" you are using. So what about the rest of the car, why...
Hi, did you end up with a resolution on this? Our FD civic is loosing fluid as well, but not onto the ground. I can only assum it is leaking into the rack.
Had a look at the DIY section for auto servicing the FD's, but could not find anything. Is it as simple as draining the fluid, dropping a pan, changing filter, blah blah blah????
Sorry to bring this topic up again......but where can I go to get brake pads that will fit the FD1 civic that doesn't require any modificaitions, etc...
Refills are approx mid $20 per side. You only need the re-fills. Rip out the old blade, re-position the steel strips that support the re-fill, then re-insert back into the assy itself.
On the topic of brake pads, where in Melbourne can I go to purchase a set of front/rears for the wife's 2006 FD civic? All I can find is OEM from Honda and the descriptions on the net for pads...
I don't think its that strong at all. Under light acceleration from takeoff, it obviously shuts down to ensure the extra power is available to the engine. You can tell by the air getting warm, the...
I finally found out what the whine was. The power steering was low on fluid and I guess their was cavitation from the pump due to air. Filled it up and now its all good again.
Worn out CV joints within the warranty period sound like something Honda should be fixing at their cost to me. CV joints are not considered 'consumable' items as far as I'm aware. They are part of...
Ok, i have now decided its not from the tranny. Its only noticable when cold and it seems to be motor related. For example, when I'm travelling at 60kmh and put the tranny in 'N' and rev the motor...
Just got back from a recent holiday and my wife and I have noticed that there is a 'whine' coming from the auto at low speeds (guess we don't notice it at higher speeds). Its not loud,...
To me that figure around town with alot of stop starts seems normal. My wife gets about 10 L/100 km around town only, no freeway or steady cruising. I thought that was a bit high until I saw the...
Its a simple fix, still shouldn't happen though. I used to drive my wife's old Telstar TX-5 she had since 1994 (she now has the FD) and never once was there a problem with the electric windows. My...
I believe if there is enough evidence of this happening to engine blocks in Australia or around the world, then would it be easy to prove it is a design or manufacturing fault and Honda would be...
