was reading this thread out of interest and started getting ideas...
for months my car has not been detecting very light throttle. i put my foot down a little and nothing happens, put it down a little more and it lurches forward. that made it an absolute nightmare in a traffic jam! driving under 30kmh was almost impossible. i always took my tuners word for it that my TPS was on it's way out and I'd need a new one.
well... i took to it with a voltmeter tonight and found it was reading 0.43v. i tested my voltmeter on the 5v reference wire and it read 5.05v - so it was .05v out meaning my tps was actually only reporting 0.38v at idle instead of 0.5v.
I undid the 2 screws and turned my tps till it read 0.55v. now runs like a dream!!! i can hold 10kmh now with no jumping, lurching or any other bs behaviour (any slower though and the pro1 cams start to object).
Thanks guys. another reason i tell myself "f*k i love Oz"
[edit]by the way, to get the readings from the tps, i pushed a safety pin through the hole in the back of the plug where the middle wire comes out. then i stuck my positive terminal from the voltmeter in the little loopy bit in the safety pin. the terminal wires were long enough to let me rest the voltmeter on the windscreen so i could see it from the drivers seat. i got a photo of the voltmeter and safety pin but XP + bluetooth = frustration!![/edit]
