    Abs

Hello, in the process of buying a honda cb1000r, just not sure wether to get the abs or standard and what is the feedback with abs on bikes?

my opinion is that go ABS, but dont rely on them. Ive never had ABS and im doing just fine. One of the guys who did the Ps test with me a few years ago always loved the ABS ( and bragged on how good it was), little did he know that the cbr250s did not have ABS, he emergency braked, locked up and lost the front and failed the test.
looking for aftermarket FN2R parts ! pm me !

ABS would add a fair bit of weight though?

decided to go with the standard, think the brakes will be great anyway with less added weight. abs i believe would be better if riding in wet weather all the time.

ABS is awesome if you spend most of your time on the road.
I'm getting ABS on my next blade as well.
Dunno if i should get black or repsol though.

CBR1000 is the first japanese sportsbike to have ABS. ABS is sometimes on the more touring bikes like the Yamaha FJR1300, some big BMW bikes and a few others. When you're doing whatever rider training you should be doing some emergency stops to get confident with it and doing some practice by yourself in a quiet spot. You should also b able to "read the road" and know where you can brake heavily and where you can't with reference to the weather conditions. ABS on a bike is not such a safety net as in a car - for example it won't stop you from flying over the handlebars if you brake way too hard for some reason (if you panic).
