I m currently driving and MK1 TT quattro. It's pretty much the same as R32.
just the R32 with V6 NA, they both with same chasis. same suspension setup.
recently been thinking getting something newer and less running cost.
Seems Type R should be a good choice.

should go for a test drive with the R
wait couple months, there would be another FN type R , with new colour,
and LSD, much much much better..

    wooow from a BMP r32 to a FN2R..

I am a fellow VW MK4 R32 owner and really enjoy the car.

Totally agree that it's a heavy hatch due to the v6 awd, which didn't really deter in purchasing the r32.

The CTR is on a different level all together.

Reason why I opt for the VW, i guess for luxury features over power and not to mention the phatness and rareness of the Mk4 esp in black.

Honda is a great company when it comes to great cars/engines and not to mention quality. But you can't really compare the 2 cars as they are both in different classes, jst my 2 cents.

I have been driven my mates FN2R and tell ya the truth its an awesome car. Definitely a drivers car. btw the CW FN2R is an absolute beauty, if only the mk4 r32 came in white i would of got one in a heart beat lol.

I also own a s2k and love it. it's for sale btw

I have a soft spot for honda's esp EP3R's, i used to be a nissan boy haha lol

At the end of the day comes down to personal preference.

Yeh Tom tom r32 i loved my R32, it was exactly like yours black! Exactly how you described how rare they are and the exhaust note was the best! But had to let it go. The FN2R does the job for a replacment for me. theyre awesome cars too. Not everyones perference in regards to the look, but i dont mind it. they go good for an N/A 2.0L. Excellent on petrol and you can still give it a little thrash!

To R123 yeh the MK4 are heaps better looking i reckon! thats why i didnt even consider the MK5 r32 as a new model! Ask TomTom r32 about servicing haha

Yeh the TT had the exact same engine...hows the TT in the running costs? i know audi and VW are pretty much the same sorta..

The new Type r is great mate, not as much power obviously but its awesome for a 2L. You have to get use to the lack of torque i have to warn ya coming from the TT and me r32.

Totally agree, exhaust note is beautiful.

In terms of servicing, pricier of course, not sure how much the dealerships are charging. But I got a vw specialist looking after my servicing/enhancements.

i think R32's sound tinny and are lacking induction noise.
