The bulge is there to clear the timing belt cover on the D16A8, so you need to keep looking around for one.

Stop!!!!!!!! the bulge is not necessary to clear anything!
it is purely for aesthetics, countless after market bonnets do not have the bulge and there are no fitting issues what so ever!

Dems, yours is a custom bonnet with shallow ribbing (if it has ribbing at all) so it has room.
And if OP has the money then a CF bonnet can do the trick, but I think that the OP wants to buy and fit a normal civic hatchie (ED6) bonnet which will not clear his ED9's D16A8.

my bro has flat metal bonnet on an 88 ed9 (no it isnt a special bonnet) it clears the lot, so yes a flat bonnet fits perfectly

    Hmmm interesting....
One of our crx guys here had a minor fender bender and he bought an ED6 bonnet to replace his bent one (ZC bonnets are getting rare around here).

    It didn't close properly.

Embrace, I suggest to arrange a trial fit before handing over hard cash.
