just to let you know I followed that exact guide and i manged to chnage my head unit. (and i live in australia and have an australian delivered EJ8).

u need to remove the panels.

its not that hard. if u find u removed a panel unnecesarily, then just screw it back on.

i used the same guide on installdr to install a headunit into my ek, once you take the panels off its pretty easy to figure out what needs to be unscrewed unpluged etc.
