Should I upgrade to R1 from my R6?

    Hi guys,

Just wanting to get some opinions on this topic!

First just a little history on me and my riding.

First bike CBR250RR (no previuos riding history before) 2005

Upgraded to my R6(2001) in around end of 2007 (Been riding R6 just over a year)

NOW Thinking of upgrading to R1.

Just wondering if I could get some pros and cons:

    Fuel economy difference?

Power difference? Would it be safe to hand from R6 to R1?

    Riding difference? feel difference? heavier?

Power band? top end? middle? or low down? I spend most of my time low down and middle of the rev range, rarely gun it.

Any help would be much appreciated. I'm happy with my R6 now, but there's always that curiousity about going for the R1!!

first thing is test riding one
    i personally had a R1 before and now having a R6 instead
powerwise the R1 is way too much. u cant use them for daily ride, even on tracks, R6 is enough. and yes the R1 is heavier, about 10kgs more, but u will notice a big difference.
the R6 has shorter wheelbase, which means it has better cornering
now im enjoying my R6, i thought the R1 is too big for me.
how about u upgrade ur 01 R6 to a latest model? that looks sexy mate.

i have a 07 modell r1 and a r6, id prefer the r1 for its spatic power, tho the r6 is just rite with the power and handling, the r1 has allot and may take abit of time to ride it too its full potential...

i wouldn't go a r1 again - i've riden a r6 before and i've owned a r1 for the good part of last year and the r1 is just spastic stupid power... it is very very fun and the speeds u can get up to is crazy ...

but the r6 is a good all round package - useable power good bike all round for cornering etc...

R1 anyday of the week, shit riders say its to much power and they cant use it, pay the money and get the suspension set up for you and you will never look back

how many times have you seen an r6 lap a track faster then an r1 , with all things being equal

hey, sounds like ur really passionate about what you are talking about. However its abit of a "out there" comment about r6 riders being too shit. I'm after a daily rider too, not a track warrior. would u still reccomend the r1?
