My re001's did two track days and over 15,000km of road driving both spirited and normal driving. They still had about 50% tread with a bit of camber wear in them since i'm running -3.5.
I haven't read all the posts but from the OP I think you should consider buying a set of semis if you're going to be tracking monthly. First time out on street tyres is fun as well. It's not all about getting quick times, it's about enjoying yourself and having fun out there. If your worried about times then you should consider semi's. If you choose to run semis you should also considering getting a baffled sump and maybe if you got a bit of extra money an oil cooler as well.
