    v14 whereis map upgrade problem

    Hi all,

recently bought original honda whereis v14.02 maps for my 2008 euro luxury (CL9). I didnt actually get it from a dealer (bought it off ebay), however im certain it is a legitimate copy (came in sealed case along with the accord navigation system book.

When i went to install the dvd into the car last night to upgrade from v13 to v14, it came back with a message saying incorrect dvd etc.

Has anyone ever experienced this issue or know how to fix???

Do honda have different discs for different models???

    Thanks!!!!

How much did you pay for it?Maybe you bought a really good copy that looks legit but isn't.

Have you tried updating the firmware from the new DVD?
    -Insert DVD into Navigation unit
-Start the car, and hold Map/Guide, Menu, and Cancel for 5 seconds.
-Hit the "Version" button on the touch screen
-Hit the "Load Disc" button on the Version screen.
-Navigation Unit will load the new firmware and reboot

    Thanks Kodak

Before trying your suggestion, is there any risk i will have issues with version 13 should the firmware version upgrade not fix the issue????

Im pretty sure it is a legit disk, looks authentic and doesnt show the signs of a burnt copy....

If it doesn't work you should be to follow the same procedure to restore your old V13 disc. If that doesn't work, disconnect the battery (>20min I think), which from what I understand, resets the nav and automatically uploads the firmware.

You can do a forum search for firmware hacks etc. there is a bit of information relating to this.

All i did with V14 is to remove the V13 disc from the drive whilst the car was running and pop V14 in and a message appeared to not switch off the car until process had been completed (about 1 min) then all was well.

That sounds like it performed a firmware upgrade automatically.

    Thanks for your help!!!!

I think I have found the problem. The copy i bought off ebay was for a Honda Accord and not the euro... Checked with Honda and the disks have two different part numbers (dammit)...

Might have to go back to the ebay seller and clear this up....

    Hi all,

Not too sure if this is common knowledge or not... As mentioned earlier the copy i bought was for an accord (not the euro). Thankfully, the ebay seller has been good enough to also do some research and has decided to refund me the money (i must say he has really gone out of his way which is pretty rare on ebay!!!!).

Either way, got confirmation from Honda today that the version i have (08 Accord) is also compatible with the 09 Euro Luxury. Part number details are as follows:

    (2008) CL9 Accord Euro Luxury : 390010-SEA-L03
    (2008) Accord and CU2 Accord Euro Luxury (2009): 39010-TC0-Q01
