Adjustable coilovers kits vs just springs/shocks

I'm just learning about suspension, but is getting complete coilover kits (suspension & shocks) with adjustable height a better option than just getting springs and shocks? are there pros and cons?

I'm after lowering the car just enough so the top of the 19" wheels are flush with the body of the car. I still want to keep the ride comfort as much as possible and don't wanna have issues with scraping on every speed hump, driveway etc...

i've been quoted around $1900-$2000 for the complete coil over kit, from brands like pedders, Ksport, and i think B&G. Let me know what you guys recommend.

Trom what you are after, I'd go a set of coilovers.
Coilovers such as Tanabe sustec S-OC's are just a bit firmer than stock.
They give a very nice ride. Best of all, they are $US900 from the states.

Those K-sport ones seem the same as the D2 coilovers. Don't know if they are worth it or not.

Buddyclub N+ coilovers get a good wrap, as do Tein SS and basic's.

    should use search function.

coilover is the better option cause you can adjust to your liking.
go for tein SS as they are almost like stock with handling gain.

But if your not planning on changing height and damper too often just go for bilstein/eibach combo which are worht every penny

    Thanks for the replies.
So it sounds like coil overs is the way to go. I did search the forums but everyone seems to only mention Tein's, bilstein and eibach. I know they must be good if everyone gives them credit but I wanted to know if anyone can tell me about coil overs with pedders, Ksport, or B&G. If they have had experience with them and can provide an average price for any of them.

Also, i'm not taking my car on the track its just for street use.

Your better off getting it from dealers here!!

Aussie dollar sucks so you'll be paying around the same price or even more to be shipped here!!!
Also most places that do ship them from overseas will incur tax costs to yourself.

George euro has ksport on the rears and they are extremely soft.....

Well if everyone here in Oz seems to be going for those brands i guess i'll join them, but if anyone can still provide their opinion on any other brands like the ones i mentioned i'd appreciate it as well.

Yeah thats why i'd prefer to get it from dealer here.

So the softer they are the more comfortable the ride?

Yes but depends on what type you get... e.g tein > ksport > BC N+ > whatever... each type is different.

from my Tein MFP i found that you need them a bit stiffer otherwise from it being too soft you bounce alot... also playing a part is the Psi in your tyres.

Most would be if you run it soft it absorbs the impact on bumps on the road.
