    Servicing - excessive charge?

    Hi All,

I recently put my Jazz '06 CVT in for the 70,000km standard service which was $210 (I am in Adelaide). During the service they said the front brakes needed replacing and there were two options: 1) have them done now or 2) have them done when due, in 5000kms but this option will cost an extra $200 compared to 1).

I declined the offer and hope to go easy on the brakes so both front and rear (due in 10,000km) can be done at the 80,000km service.

Did I do the right thing in refusing - the extra $200 looked a bit suspect?

    Ta

    200 sounds reasonable.

Thanks, I'm a bit surprised though - does it mean $200 just to take the front wheels off? (The $200 didn't include the cost of brakes or labour).

ooh the $200 didn't include parts and labour.

Well you would have to get in detail from them the total cost .

All now cleared up. It was $200 on top of service for the front brakes. Or $200 5000km later on, so there was no actual extra.

    Thanks for help.

You'd be suprised I had the same told to me by a dealer and changed my brakes myself to find 50 percent of my brake pad still there.
