I pulled up next to an obviously worked escort at some traffic lights yesterday ( on my private property 8) ). the car made a mad bubbling noise as it idled but i thought id have no problems beating him, so i revvd and then so did he. the lights went green and we both spun the wheels but not for long... he started to pull away then i hit 1st gear Vtec and pulled him back a bit, he changed into 2nd a bit before me, then i changed into 2nd gear and hit vtec, i had him buy about a bonnet length by then... 3rd gear i had him buy nearly a car length! then we slowed down. But it was a real good drag, nice and close but id love to know wat he was running?? Anyone had any escort encounters?

hmm..if it was an old escort...u shoudl of eaten him nps.

But logistical mods would be twin webber carbies ( giving that nice burbling sound) and cams or exhaust etc. They had a 2l with a bit of poke i believe?!?

"mad bubbling noise" usually equals lumpy cams.

Ive got an EG sedan Vtec, i haven't done much to it except a pod, headers and 2 1/4 through as i only got the car 2 weeks ago so theres nothing special at all but i didn't think it would be such a close race. How could i get more power "dc2r"? chip??

Well it really depends how far and how much money you're willing to spend. And it isn't all about 'power'. Do you want to stay NA or go forced induction? You can go for intake mods next. I think the headers and exhaust is a good start. If you want mods for power then you can go for internals. I think the chip is one of the last things in the mods process because you can program it with everything else.

But mods to get you 'faster' and not more 'power' would be stuff like: suspension, tyres, lightening your car (take shit out you don't really need), etc.
