why are 5th gen preludes expensive for insurance?

i was 20 years old when i got the lude
justcar charged me $2232 under my name comprehensive
thats with a clean driving record
last year, i've paid $1700
and this year im expecting no higher than $1500!

i'm not gonna give insurance companies $2k + for comp..screw that..
instead i pay $850 a year comp with a $3000 excess...
i'll be 25yo in a few months so it's all good for me after that...

im paying $1600 under my dads name, im 18, gio, but we do get i think its like a 200$ discount because we have other stuff insured with them too.. otherwise on my name it will be over 2500 easy
