90lan, im sure i read that the whole TRD devision was getting shut down thanks to the lack of support/eco crisis/blah.
the hilux and aurion have been selling side by side for a while.
in the last topgear aus mag they did a story on the lux as a last horrah b4 its stopped.
stuff like that is prob why we arnt gonna ever see mugen spec hondas in australia.
least not thru honda dealers.
to expensive, not enough people wanting it...blah.

TRD was getting shutdown cos there wasn't enough demand for their cars. I personally think 200+kw FWD is too much, then again the Euro Mugen RR should be churning out such numbers. The thing is that the TRD Aurion got shut down was also because they were facing too many problems with them, being DOA or just bustin out the motor but it also doesn't surprise me the WFC is behind shutting down TRD, its a real shame.... Seen a few around TRD Aurions around Melbourne, but they're a pretty rare sight.
Not sure about the probability of seeing Mugen spec Hondas in Australia, they currently have the whole Mudulo design thing going with the City atm. Will just be a matter of time Honda chooses to adopt it for the whole product range. Though i know for a fact that our neighbors the kiwis can get a the V6 Accord with Mugen body works across the range. All exterior mods and nothing under the hood. I srsly don't think theres a big enough demand for fast 4-bangers in Australia that are also pretty expensive. Aussies will continue and probably love their 30+L/100km unleaded drinking V8s.
