B16A heads- stock HP flow & ported HP flow?

    Hi All -

Can anyone please confirm what a stock B16A (JDM) head will flow in terms of horsepower AND what one could reasonably expect (ballpark)from a solidly ported/polished head?? The later can include standard valve sizes or oversize, though please be specific. I'm looking to determine the viability of costs associated with respect to potential gains....cams aside. Cheers...

    Spend $1000 = + 5hp
    Spend $5000 = + 20hp
If you race & want to win, of course it's viable.
If you car is a roadie, save your money.

For increase in valve size, you need to know your bore size...
As it may not be worth it.

Depends who ports it. It could either work great or make it go backwards. IMO on a standard motor i wouldnt bother. Go and add on a bigger displacement bottom end. Our current race motor is using standard valve size. Alot of people make the mistake BIGGER is ALWAYS better. Guarantee installing oversize valves on a b16a will be it lazy.

boost is always the cheaper $ for kw
a cheap setup about $4-6k if you know what your doing, gains would be 60-90kw gains depending on what you get how its tuned etc.....

You'd be spending alot more to get those power mods in a b16 N/A.

If your after only a bit more power a good full exhaust will net you 5-10kw atw.
