a friend is thinking about getting a custom made CAI for his dc2r,

are custom any good compared to brand names??

I think it doesn't matter if it's custom or branded, as long as it does the job. It's only a intake, its not gonna make THAT much of a difference.

Just copy the shape of branded CAI's when making the custom one, and you'll be fine.

I currently have a zero1000 intake chamber on my dc2r atm, but will be installing a large stainless duct that draws cold air in from the front bar and sends it into the engine bay, with a shroud around the pod to stop heat from entering the intake. I hopefully will be fabricating this soon and should be able to post up any updates here. Hopefully it all turns out nice.
