DC5R - how to get to rear coilover damper adjustment.

Hey guys tried searching but couldnt find what i was looking for. I have Tein SS on my car and decided that i want to fiddle around with the rear damper settings. I cant for the life of me get to the adjuster as i dont know exactly where it is and i dont want to break any of the plastic (I have a habit of getting frustrated and yanking bits a little too much causing them to break lol). Any suggestions or recommendations on the best course of action?

    Cheers,

To get to the rear strut tower you have to do the following
    - Fold down rear seats
    - Open boot
    - Remove boot carpet and false floor (No need to remove spare wheel)
    - Remove plastic panel around latch (This should be held on my clips)
    - You should now be able to see how the two carpet side walls are held in. Remove these, starting from one end (Rear hatch) and working your way along (Rear seat). This should be held in by clips at the top and bottom, and maybe 1 or 2 in the middle.

I haven't pulled mine out for well over a year, but it is fairly basic, and mostly held in by clips.

ok that seems pretty basic. Only trouble is i cant take out the floor of my boot as it has been custom made for a soundsystem. Do i really need to take out the boot flooring? My mechanic installed the coilovers whilst all the sound stuff was in the car so i suppose he found a way to do it. I dont need to take out the plastic trim covering the speakers at all? Thats what i started to take off but it seems like alot of effort just to get to the strut. So carpet it is.

You don't need to remove anything from the back seats forward out.

Just take the carpet side walls out. Just makes it easier to see what you are doing if you take the false floor out... but as you have the sound stuff in it, just work around it.

for my dc5r, i just gently pull the plastic part near the rear seatbelts. you can get to the damper adjustment without having to unscrew everything. just be very careful not to break anything!
