    !!-EG Random Speedo-!

    hey guys,

ive got posession of my girlfriends EG 1.5 manual, carby this week

problem is the speedo randomly jumps from 50kmh to 230kmh then double backs on itself. then flicks to 0 while physicly cruising at 60kmh.

it wont work then it orks on and off.

is this the cable connected to the dash or is it the dash???

pull off the cluster and there 3 massive reclangle wiring plugs that connect to the cluster. Unplug and plug back in all three also wiggle around all the wires and push them into the plugs, make sure there firm.

Sounds like somethings tripping. I had this issue about 3 years ago. Same year same car. 93 1.5 carb eg4. tiznt much that anymore but when it used to be. I just did what i said and it came good.

    ^^ this.

Or you have a faulty connection in the wiring from the VSS.

I think it has something to do with the signal from the VSS or the sensor in it. cutting in and out occasionally.

I think start with some small things, check fuses, check back of the cluster wiring. If that doesnt help then go to a wrecker and grab another vss. Only two 10mm bolts unplug and replace. easypeazy
