    rim painting

    hey guys just need some tips on re-painting ma rims..i have black rims and its fading atm..just wondering which kind of type to use acrylic or enamel paint?
    if i want my rims to not look glossy or shiny..just after for a matte colour
    and also do i have to clean the rims or can i just paint over it lol! bit lazy this days

    yes wash the rims, then use wax and grease remover
    use enamel as it wont stratch off when washing them next..
    if you dont want gloss get a satin paint... or matt...
    sand them first... use a primer if your using a red, white,
    yellow, light blue paint you get the drift.
    or if you go back to the alloy most defitnalty prime...

    dnt b lazy mang lol... may aswell get em power coated...

    thanks heaps ay..have you had any experience of using those cheap enamel spray paint from supercheap? im thinking of buying those tomorrow since its 4 for 10 bux lol! how much is a matt paint?

    haha i might just wash it not sand it off lol inala styles

    i last used brake caliper paint on my delsol. it lasted a while, but eventually peeled. this was probably because i chose not to clean the wheels to thoroughly. i would use some sort of enamel like riviera said.

    with painting, prepping is the most important step. painting is the quick and easy part. prepare, prepare, prepare. clean the mags and give them a real good sand.

    there are also plenty of diys mate as B185LL already pointed out as well!

    of course, if you can, get them powdercoated. thats the best option.

    i did know of a place out at salsbury.. but i cant remember what they were called.
    i can try and find out for you.

    yeah i need to get my rims painted before the huge as meet lol!

    i think about 80-90 bucks a wheel.
    and the mags have to be off the tyres of course

    read few diy's already ay! i shud be set!
    primer is optional ay? cause im just thinking of clean the rims, light sand and re-spray lol
