    B16a8 confusion.

    Hello, new user here.

Recently purchased a 93 EG Civic. Unregistered. Good condition.

However, there is something that is of question.. on my Motor Vehicle Inspection form, in an attempt to find out what needs changing to get it registered, it determines that the 'Engine #' is a D16A8; however, on the engine block itself in the car, it currently and clearly reads B16A8.

First off, why the confusion.. They are two entirely different series of engines, correct? and secondly, I can't find any information on a B16A8.

    Could definitely use some enlightenment.

How embarrassing to admit this. But it appears I've made a human error.

A friend suggested I put a wire brush to the imprint and some better light. Clearly I can't tell the difference between a B and a D.

It is a D16a8. Lock thread.
