    D16Y4 oil filter change trouble

    Hi all,

Just want to find out what D16Y4 EK1 owners do to get the oil filter loose. I've tried using my hands and it's too hard to come off. I've also used the 3-claw type wrench and it's still too tight.

As you can imagine it's quite hard to access the filter as it's right at the back of the block, underneath the intake.

Anyone care to share their own technique in getting this bugger of a part out?

    Cheers

    Done this today man.

Jack the car up and stab a screwdriver through the old filter and use the screw driver to undo it. OR goto honda (if the filter is oem honda) and get a oil filter removal tool.

    Chris.

Yeah its a pain to get out. Bare hands didnt work for me either.

I had to buy the tool that belt wrapped around the filter.

if you can't remove the oil filter with your hands and a bit of force your either weak, or the last person who serviced it done it up too tight, only reason why people do it up too tight is because their paranoid
