B18c with high ks
got a b18c2, 175xxxx ks. just wondering if its worth opening up for cams, retainers etc etc or better off putting another head with lower ks and working that. thats my dilemma.
or
putting a b18c7 on the b18c block and work that.. any plus?
just wanna make my mind up before i do anything
cheers

If the engine is in good condition there is no reason to ditch the head, it might help to pull it off and re-condition it and do a little extra here and there...
If you're going to change cams/retainers/valvesprings and possibly some mild port work, there is no point in spending money on the ITR head to begin with.
You will have to keep in mind the intake manifold you currently have will have to go in the bin as you can't use it on a PR3 head as we know. - another reason not to bother as it makes the price +++

The rear of stuff is a waste of money??? WTF dude
Anyways, get a compression test done on the motor, this is one of the best ways to check the condition of the motor and rings most importantly, if ur gonna get new cams depending on wat type a little higher comp is good but if ur not gonna touch the bottom end then some flat faced valves are fairly cheap and effective, also yes it is a good idea to p&p to benefit from any cams.

this is a good plan
175k kms isnt that bad man ... my teg was at that when i bought it, and it went great all the way out to 200k, than 200k service interval and onward
hell my EG gli is just in for a 300k service and she still runs fine
as long as you look after them and keep them serviced - check oil and water etc
we own hondas, not hyundais =p
if its been thrashed to hell .... u may want to get it checked out tho

yeah, the rest of the stuff on his list is a waste of money. He's better off saving it.
The parts he is listing here are worth up to 50% of the cars value. Waste.
