    D16Y Head Swap

    Howdy Guys
I have a 2000 model civic fitted with the d16y engine, my question is.......is there another head that can be fitted that has benefits over the stock item or am i better off to port and shave the standard one to gain better breathin etc?
    Cheers RB

You will barely notice the power difference in doing the mini me conversion but you will hear your vtec crossover.

It's a pretty good write-up I've come across about a year ago and my mates used it as a guide for his minime conversion.

the americans do it all the time because from their Y7 it goes from 70 something KW to ~95kw, compared to our 88kw->~95kW, a much bigger jump

I wouldn't bother and save the money for a B18C or b20 transplant

as e240 says rubba jus save for a b -swap...
unless ur really short on funds.. in that case minime is good enuff..
    like in my case..
ill notice the diff =) for sure!
cos my head is vtec-e (d16y5) and from 0-3000rpm im running on 12 friggin valves - 16 valves kick in @ 3000... - no aggressive lobe for me =( its slow ass!
so itll be minime for me!

    for minime swap:
so itll be just the wiring, ecu and d16y8 head right?
    nothing else u guys reckon?
    ||bye bye civic || hello awd turbo ||
